My name is Claire and I live close to the English/Welsh border and we are surrounded by green fields and farms. Herefordshire is famous for black and white houses, cider, apples, hops and the Mappa Mundi map in the Cathedral. They only realised how valuable it was when they tried to sell it and there was an outcry! My Husband found a really old Welsh map on the Internet and apparently the Welsh border reached Worcestershire.

I started collecting postcards when I was a child and restarted a couple of years ago. My hobbies also include knitting, crochet, writing to pen-pals, patchwork and genealogy (I've got back to 1698).

My favourites postcards are:- maps, flags, general views , famous people/royalty, anything Celtic, ancient structures ie standing stones or burial mounds, national dress.

I am also on Postcrossing and Walltype, the former I have been using it for two years.

I don't mind if they're in an envelope or not, it's up to you. :-)

If my card hasn't arrived a month after the deadline let me know and I'll resend. I normally post as soon as I recieve my addresses.

Many years ago, while at school, we would write to our French pen-pals. I began again twenty years ago and love learning about different countries and cultures.

I have just started swapping crochet squares and I don't mind what colour they are. Hopefully I'll end up with a very colourful blanket after a few months.

It must be my age but you can't beat 80's music. :-)

I highly recommend Barbara Erskine. She lives near Hay on Wye and her books are fantastic.

Emmerdale is a must. It's a soap based in a Yorkshire village. I also like Dad's Army, NCIS, Time Team and historical documentaries.
