I am a mother, artist, photographer, printmaker, crafter. I began as a photographer and switched to printmaking after taking my class. I fell in love with processes. As a result, have respected and admired Japanese craftsmanship for a long while. I love the paper, the attention to detail and the way that Japanese have a way of taking everything to a whole new level of beautiful.
Oh yes, my favorite color is green, particularly lime green. I am also loving tiffany blue and beige. I love linen, cherry blossoms, chocolate, polka dots, plaid, punk stuff, quilts, origami paper, rubber stamps, japanese fabric, gingham, checkers, felt and felted things, reconstructed things, patina copper, recycling, etc, etc.
I don't really care for mosaics, Wal-mart, anything between my toes, gold jewelry or diamonds.
I'm currently listening to: Silversun Pickups and as a result I'm revisiting the Smashing Pumpkins (one of the greatest all-time bands IMHO). I'm also really loving that Sarah McLauclin's song from the movie Charlotte's web (Ordinary Miracle, I think it's called). And I love that song on Cartoon Network by Andre 3000, from Class of 3000 about peanuts. Needless to say, I'm all over the place, but am ultimately a product of the 90's.
Two recent movies that I thought were amazing were "The Departed" and "Blood Diamond". I'm not a Leo nut, but must admit he's a darn good actor.
All time movie favorites are: The Color Purple, Sideways, Waking Life, Princess Bride, My Cousin Vinny, Everafter
I'm really enjoying House, The Office and Earl right now.
All time favorite is easy: Northern Exposure!
Printmaking, Screenprinting, Quilting, Sewing, Crocheting, Stamping, Papermaking, Collage, Everything really!
