My name is Emily. I am 32 years old and live in the woods in Pennsylvania. I am married and have 3 wonderful little kids. My oldest son is 10, only girl is 5, and youngest is only 11 months old, so I’ve got my hands full! I went through a lot of trauma in the past year (if we become friends, I can explain. Please be kind. I had an awful thing happen to my youngest, but he’s fine now. I’m still not over it all. Letters are being sent back to pen pals at a slower speed than I typically do (I’ll get swaps out on time, I’m just very unorganized with replying because of what happened). I had someone be insanely rude to me and it just made me relive that trauma. Don’t be that rude person.
I went to Vet Tech school for a year, but decided that the medical field wasn't for me. It was extremely overwhelming as well! For example, last semester (September-December 2020) I was in 10 classes- half online, half in person. I barely had time to BREATHE let alone spend any time on anything that wasn't school related! I'm currently a SAHM working on my jewelry business. I will be returning to school in the fall, but to begin my Bachelor's Degree in Wildlife and Conservation. My dream is to work with animals in their natural habitat and help preserve their lands. (Obviously, I'm a huge animal lover!)
My hobbies include watching movies, listening to music, reading (when I have time other than my text books!), pen palling, paper crafting, and cosplay. I am a big history buff, especially anything medieval/Victorian. I love fashion from those times and someday when I learn to sew, I want to make some period pieces. With that, comes my love of faeries and Renaissance Faires. I would consider myself a woodland faerie type of person. Next year I am hoping to start a faerie garden! I love dressing whimsical, like a faerie. I love everything about Renaissance Faires and buying any piece for my garden, incense, crystals, anything of the likes of all that there!
I consider my fashion sense to be what I call boho-goth. You'll usually find me wearing something black and flowy (Stevie Nicks, my idol, is my fashion inspiration), but I'll sometimes be caught in neutral colors (whites, browns, greens, purples) as well and with a floral print. I was very much into the pin-up couture when I was 25, and have a hard time letting go of all my dresses! I also wear things with skulls on it, as anything macabre interests me.
This is going to sound weird, but serial killers fascinate me. I've studied them from what they've done to trying to pick their minds. I have textbook knowledge about a bunch of them!
I am Pagan, but I'm not entirely out there yet. I practice very conservatively and very privately. I've been enjoying practing kitchen/green witchery (using herbs and putting positive intentions into our food). I don't mind talking about my beliefs, but only if you do it in a respectful way. I don't judge others for their beliefs and expect the same from you. I got bothered by a letter from one user on here, she completely judged me without knowing anything about my beliefs and basically acted as if I needed God in my life. I do have God in my life, and I do pray. I will rate down if you're disrespectful to me because of what I believe in. I won't be disrespectful to others of other beliefs as well! I do enjoy talking to people who are like-minded!
I am very much an old soul!
I'm obsessed with Fleetwood Mac. Led Zeppelin is another favorite band. Anything classic rock is my type of music!
I try to make time to read, but don't get enough time to! I don't know what my favorite books are, but I enjoy horror stories, have the complete collection of Edgar Allen Poe, H.P. Lovecraft and I love fairy tales! I also love The Hobbit and LOTR. I also LOVE folklore, and love to hear stories from different cultures, so if you would like to tell me a story from your culture, please do!
I am a horror fan. My favorite movie is The Silence of the Lambs. I love anything from psychological thrillers to some of the more gorey and suspensful horror movies. I enjoy campy horror flicks from the '80's. I'm not very big on horror movies today (although I'll still go see them). I don't find many of today's movies to be scary and they're pretty much the same story just told differently each time so I get kind of bored. The newest horror movie I enjoyed recently was It Chapter 2. I enjoyed the campyness of it! I'm also a HUGE Marvel nerd. Haha, going to get vulnerable here, but I still cry every time I watch End Game (no, I'm NOT kidding)! Also, RIP Chadwick Boseman, the best Marvel king out there! I will never get over losing Black Panther! That being said, Black Panther and Captain America are my favorites! I’ve recently embraced my nerdier side and love a good fantasy movie! My favorites are The Hobbit/LOTR trilogies. I’m also a big fan of the tv series The Witcher.
I'm big into snail mailing and mail art. I try to craft with my letters as long as I have the time to put into it. I do my best to put thought and heart into everything I do! I create a lot of homemade cards and flip books. I used to create a lot of pocket letters, but haven't had the materials to do so recently. I also enjoy making my own little embellishments whenever I find myself with the time to do so! I love theming my paper crafts. Some themes I enjoy are:
-Bohemian -Magickal (crystals, zodiac, and the likes) -FAERIES -Succulent/Cacti -Stars/space - Victorian/Medieval - Floral - Nautical - Mermaids - Dragons - Witchy/occult - SPOOKY/MACABRE
Unless it’s Halloween related and cartoony, I am VERY arachnophobia, so please don’t send things with spiders. I don’t mind Halloween stickers/washi with them, but anything realistic will make me cry. I have no use for post cards. Unless it’s a written on postcard for a swap, I do not need them. I'm not really into the whole kawaii thing.
My Post Office kind of sucks. For some reason, it seems like sometimes they work quickly, other times they work slowly. I get things returned to me for an extra stamp or two A WEEK AND A HALF after I initially sent, which makes some of my swaps late because they took that long doing who knows what to get something back to me that should have taken maybe 2 days tops. I try to use different post offices when I can, but when I'm at work, my mailing address post office is what I use. If I happen to get something returned back to me very late, I absolutely let my partner know. It seems sometimes, even when I put the swap in the mail box the day it's due, the post mark date on it is 1-2 days later. Unfortuantely, there's nothing I can really do about that. I try not to mail out on the last day possible, but especially while in school, it happens! If there's ever any kind of issue, please contact me first and we'll work it out! I also don't check my mail every single day, so if there's ever any type of issue, I make my partner aware of it as soon as I am!
Something I had wanted to get into a few years ago was jewelry making, but for some reason, I just never pursued it at the time. I decided to dive into it for a swap, and now I'm HOOKED! I'm starting off with beaded jewelry, but someday would like to expand my creativeness! I enjoy making things based off of themes I like. I am right now thinking about making a collection that I would describe as "fairy" jewelry: jewel tones, crystals, and fairy charms. I someday would like to make collections based off of certain eras of history that I enjoy, such as ancient Egypt, Medieval/Victorian, that sort of stuff!

Hello Emily, I would love to continue to wirte you! ^.^ But hopefully in some days you will get my letter from the swap, too. It's maybe a little lazy for the start, but before our letter cross again, it's better to say: Considered this as my answer. ^^° (Especially because the content really fits to your letter! XD) Have a great day!
I can't wait, the weather is finally warming up & excited for the solstice :)
Blessed Litha!

Hi! Did you receive my letter for the PenPals international January swap? Please, don’t forget to rate! 🦊☀️🦋🐝🦉
Profile check for Crafty Pals Forever :)
Thank you so much for the pocket letter you angeled for me. I received it today and thought it was so lovely. I really do appreciate it!
@kfaye thank you for the suggestion! So far in the past few weeks I've been lucky, but if I run into trouble again I think I'm definitely going to look into doing it that way!
I make my shipping labels with Paypal. You put in the address you are sending to, the weight, size and specify if it's a thick envelope or box, how you want it sent (first class, priority, media mail...) and it will calculate the exact postage required. Then you pay for your postage online and print out the label right from home, tape it to your package & drop it off at the post office. It includes a tracking number that is also stored in your paypal account. It's pretty awesome!
