I am a 37 year old mum to 5 children - 4 girls and 1 boy and have been married for the last 10 years to a wonderful husband. I live in a remote area of Australia (the outback filming for the movie Australia were filmed around the town I live in) and am currently studying at Uni by distance education. I have lots of hobbies that keep me amused when not chasing after my children. .
Sewing: I like making clothing for myself and my children, dotee's, matryoshkas and softies. I've just started to learn how to quilt. My favorite fabrics designers include Sandy Henderson (Farmers Market & Ginger Blossom), Alexander Henry (Too many to name), and Heather Bailey. I also love Japanese fabrics and many more.
Knitting: I like knitting with natural fibres, including bamboo, wool, cotton, and alpaca. I also like man made fibres for making dotee dolls.
Cross-stitch, felting and pottery are some of my other hobbies. I like trying out new things - I'd like to learn how to crochet, make ATC's and polymer clay modelling.
I dont really watch a lot of television but I do like Criminal Minds, Grey's Anatomy, Bones and most cooking/lifestyle type shows.
I am pretty easygoing and will listen to most things, though I'm not real keen on heavy metal.
Reading would have to be my all time favorite pass-time. I love both fiction and non-fiction. Novels I like to read include crime/detective (Agatha Christie,Janet Evanovich), fantasy (Robert Jordan, cant think of who else I've read recently), classic's (Homer, Sherlock Holmes series, etc) as well as this I love reading craft books, gardening, magazines, just about anything.
I collect lots of things, which include perfume, momiji dolls, fabric, yarn, buttons, trim, dotee and matryoshka dolls.
Due to Australia's strict quarantine regulations the following items will not be allowed and will be confiscated by Australian Customs: * Meat & meat products
*Dairy & Eggs, or any product containg more than 10% egg or dairy
*Plant material, seeds & raw nuts - this includes herbal tea's that contain fruit peel, dried herbs or leaves, all plant material including bulbs, whole plants, cuttings, roots, flowers and stems. Gifts, ornaments and toys filled with straw, plant matter, sand or soil.
Unfortunely customs have already confiscated and destroyed one swap and tore apart another that only contained paper, so they are pretty strict in this regard.
As I live in a remote area of Australia sometimes the mail is a bit slower and can take a couple of days longer to get to where it is going - international swaps usually take between 6-10 days to arrive and within Australia can also take the same amount of time.
I am developing a serious fabric addiction and would love to add to my growing stash!
Yarn - for knitting or dotee making
Trim & Ribbon
Buttons - vintage, unusual, cute
note pads and writing paper
Calligraphy pens
Chocolate - I really love American Reese peanutbutter cups. I like mostly Dark and good quality white chocolate.
MY FAVORITE COLORS are red, black, silver, and lime green
