I'm in that transition time between having finished a Ph.D. in literature and finding a lucrative teaching position. So right now I'm working somewhere that isn't my field of choice, teaching a night class in the Fall, and basically fretting about the future.

My focus is Contemporary Scottish Fiction with a dissertation on the novels of Alan Warner. When not reading and working (or teaching again in the fall), I tend to be watching movies, listening to music, hanging out with friends, and doing craftsy things (or aspiring to). I'd like to do more power yoga, jet skiing,and knitting. I want to sing in a band and play guitar, but I've settled for the mandolin and a two-man show: Kissy & the G. Kissy is me, G is my ex.

I've got two cats: Schrebrencia and Sara. "Schrebbie" loves David Mamet films, particularly Al Pacino in Glengarry, Glen Ross.She has a picture of Al above her food bowl. Sara is a whiny, independent tuxedo cat.

I love making things and receiving handmade things in basically any kind of medium. I'm planning on getting a sewing machine sometime soon, and I've always loved making things out of paper. I've done some bookmaking, and I'm hoping to start working on photography, too.

I'm a newbie, but I'm very responsible! I won't let you down. =^..^=
