Hiya! I'm Chrissy. I'm a fiber artist and I design and sell sewing and embroidery patterns.
I love permaculture, and I have a focus on perennial food bearing plants in my yard. Ask me about it, I can go on for hours. We spend a lot of time outside in the garden working and enjoying it.
I am a Pagan, with a focus on the goddess Holda, and Germanic Paganism.
I studied German in college and I am trying to teach my family German.
Besides working on my business art, my hobbies include painting, drawing and block printing. I love to work on miniature canvasses, ATCs or other small works of art.
I seriously love sending and receiving things in the mail. Stickers, notepads, ATCs, teeny tiny ephemera, washi tape, book pages esp in other languages, shaped paper clips.... lots and lots of options. Let's have fun!!
I love stripey socks.
I love milk chocolate.
I love all things handmade.
For ATCs, I mainly do mixed media painting, inking and collage with painted papers. Sometimes I just do painting, and a lot of the time I will zentangle or ink over painted papers. I also do some block printing, which is generally incorporated into my artwork.
I love to work in miniature, so many of my paintings and mixed media works are 4x6 or smaller.
I also love making zines! They're so much fun... if I can just think of subjects to write about!
Of course, I also do a lot of embroidery and sewing with wool and bamboo felt, which is my job (I sell the patterns). I'm a super DIYer, so I dye the felt myself before sewing. I also make dolls, and I hope to sell them someday, once I've perfected the pattern.
My favorite book is The Time Traveller's Wife. I don't love the movie. I also love Diana Gabaldon's Highlander series, although I have some serious concerns with her grammar and writing. I love historical fiction and post-apocalyptic for the most part, but I'm super picky with my books because I don't have a lot of time to read. It really has to GRAB me right away or I'll never finish it.
My favorite movies are the Postman and Practical Magic. I absolutely love time travel movies also. It's my favorite motif in artistic media, though neither of my favorite movies are time travel movies! lol Doctor Who is my favorite television series.
I love Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers, Beach Boys, Billy Joel.... hmmm... there are others but I can never think of them.... I have very wide-ranging tastes and listen to indie rock on pandora most of the time.
I love tea- mostly herbal infusions, but flavored black or green teas are nice too. Darjeeling is also good. Chamomile & Peppermint are my favorites.
I drink a lot of Kombucha - well, I make it with green tea and honey, so it's called Jun. I'm happy to share how to make it, and I'd totally share SCOBYs if you know a good way to ship it. :)
My favorite foods are homemade comfort type foods - Clam Chowder, Brownies, Spätzle, Sushi, Gyros, Hummus, Pfeffernüsse
I love folk art style of designs and patterns - lots of details and patterns and contrasting colors.... zentangle-y, doodle-y type designs.....
I love bohemian, gypsy, artsy styles....
I love handmade pottery, handmade dolls and felt items. Hand embroidered designs.... I really love handmade things. A lot.
I am a minimalist and anti-consumerist. That does not mean that I don't love art supplies. And books.
I love celestial motifs, like sun and moon. Goddess designs, female empowerment motifs, female, feminine (not "girly"), also owls, foxes, hedgehogs, woodland creatures, gnomes,
I have two children who love to swap. They draw and paint ATCs often and are quite good. If you're interested in seeing their work or swapping- they would love that. Especially swapping with other kids.
I love getting pages from vintage books- english, other languages, dictionaries, stuff with lots of words. Also old letters, notebook paper that's kind of yellowing, old useless money, basically old paper items.
Tasteful nudity is OK in art, atcs, etc....
Stickers are great. If I won't use them, then the kids will. NO character stickers please.
Handmade postcards welcome, decorative, shaped postcards welcome. Please no tourist-y type postcards. LOVE blank postcards.
no character things, including stickers - characters are people or animals or superheroes from TV shows, movies, books or otherwise.
no religious stuff, especially no christian stuff.
no sports themed stuff please
NO tourist-y type postcards.

Hi museinthemorning. This is for Poetry Zine Swap - Send by Email. As you know, I messed up. I forgot to change "3" to "6" partners before assigning people. I changed it to "6" after assigning, but that didn't work. . So we can only rate 3. If I could, I would rate you a 5 heart. Your Emily Dickinson heart zine. They pair well together. The hearts are a delight, softening the impact of the poem. It is indeed healing. Thank you for creating your lovely zine and sharing it.
I just followed you on IG. Love your work!
Happy Birthday!
Welcome to ZMACS!
