Hi! My name is Mari and I'm from Bulgaria. I'm currently living in Germany for my studies (Computer science).
I honestly always have a hard time describing myself, because my hobbies and interests are just soooo many. I easily get hooked up on things, then I pick up new things, after a while I come back to the old stuff...but I'll try my best, bear with me π.
I love traveling. Last year I was a volunteer at a children day care center in Peru. Unfortunately I had to leave early, you can guess the reason (Hint: it happened at the beginning of 2020). But nonetheless, it was very exciting and I can say it kind of changed the way I see the world and the things I prioritize in life. That's why I love visiting new places and learning about new cultures - I think it really makes you a better person.
For a long time I've been dreaming of visiting Asia and I really hope to be able to do so one day. Ever since I was a teenager I was into Korean music (I intentionally didn't use the word Kpop) and Kdrama and I still like basically everything related to Korea π . By saying that, I don't mean BTS. I don't listen to a lot of mainstream Kpop (Blackpink are an exception though, I absolutely adore them). Most of the Korean artists that I listen to don't even make pop music and aren't very famous.
Music has always been a big passion for me. I used to play the piano till the 8th grade and I'd love to start again when I have money to buy a new one. I also can play a little bit guitar and ukulele and I love singing.
I'm a christian and I really like to study the Bible. I love to listen to the "Bible project" podcast and to watch their videos on YouTube. They do a really deep analysis and I get inspired from them on different ways to read the Bible.
I like to learn new languages and I try to do so as much as I can in my spare time. I currently speak Bulgarian, German, English, Russian and Spanish. I can understand a little bit of Korean, but I can't read or write, so Korean is definitely on my list to study next.
I recently got into photography and bought a professional camera. I still study it though, so I don't have much to say about that nor I have photos to show, but I hope sometime in the future to make my own website. My focus is astrophotography, as I love the night sky and get excited every time there's some astro-related event.
Other things I like: making origami, cooking, cats (big and small) and actually almost all animals, summer, beaches, snorkeling, hiking in the mountain.
I obviously love classical music, but my musical taste is veeeery diverse. I listen to almost all genres, except for metal and most hard rock. Lyrics are important to me, I wonβt listen to a song if it portrays some sort of a disturbing message because I believe it really maters what we βfeedβ our brains, as it could change our personalities.
