I am a 40-something mother of four almost grown children. My latest OCD compulsion is knitting, although I like almost anything that requires creativity... I have done most things fiber-art related. I also love to write and have finally taken the plunge into the blogisphere at stixchik.blogspot.com. I am working on a midlife career change from project manager to copywriter at the advertising agency where I work.
I have very eclectic music tastes. I was a music education major (for a while) in college, and play the flute. I love acapella music, both traditional and gospel. Country is growing on my, although I can't quite say I like it yet. James Taylor was a childhood favorite and I like it now and then. Casting Crowns and Steven Curtis Chapman are inspirational.
Reading was my last OCD phase. I like mysteries where the hero(ine) is a strong female. Thing Stephanie Plum. Or Patricia Cornwell's medical mysteries.
Like the chick flicks. Like the family flicks. Not big on violence or a lot of sex in movies.
House Top Chef Project Runway Numb3rs College Basketball Food Channel CSI - original and Miami, not New York Dirty Jobs Mythbusters
Needle arts including , knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, sewing. I used to cross stitch, but my eyes are too bad for it now.
Photography, especially sports photography
Cooking. Love the Food Channel
Raising kids has caused me to put a lot of these interests on hold while I put my children first. But I plan to return to them some day.
I am married for 24+ years to the same man.
I have four children - 3 adult girls (21, 20, 18), and 1 boy (16). We'll see if the boy lives to 17...
Yarn from local yarn shops (not Walmart...) If we do a sock yarn trade, I have size 11 feet, so I need a squosh more yarn that the pattern usually calls for...
Unusual bunnies. (I collect them)I do mean unusual. Nothing cutesy.
I like fun socks, but I have big feet (shoe size 11)
Earrings and necklaces. I have pierced ears, but they tend to react to cheap earrings, so hypoallergenic, please.
sugar-free foods (I am "pre-dibetic")
craft magazines, especially knitting
healthy recipes (I have lost 60+ pounds and still need to lose a bunch more)
fun chapstick
coffee - medium roast, ground, flavored... sugar-free flavor shots...
coffee mugs - large but not ginormous... tiny mugs are a waste of my time :)
herbal teas - regular tea is ok if it's not too heavy a flavor
Green... green green green. Any shade.
Jewel tones - any color. The hue is what's important. Deep and rich, please :)
Pastels - these can be richly hued as well.
Neutrals
In that order.
There isn't really a color I don't like. But I like some hues more than others.
Bath salts or bubble bath(I only shower)
Nail polish
Hats - I don't look good in them and I have a big head so most "OSFA" hats don't fit
Overtly religious items. I do have faith, but I prefer to choose myself how I want to display it.
