I have been terribly lazy in updating my profile lately..........probably because nothing much changes for me!!! sigh I'm a single mom of 2 teenagers;
Eden,17
and Landon,16.
I work full time at a retail store as a receiver, front end supervisor, and general flunky/fix it person. I love my job, as I am paid ok, have weekends off, work with a generally good bunch of people, keep in shape, and get too bitch whenever I want LOL. I have 2 dogs, and a cat. The dogs are a shi tzu (Yogi)and a pom/american eskimo/terrier cross (Turbo) and the cat (Lint) is a himalayan. My son has nicknamed them and sometimes they get awfully confused, as do I!!! I consider myself a very positive person, because I try to see the best in everything, and the "happy pills" that my friends and doctor have convinced me to take certainly help to keep things sane!!! I love to cook and bake all kinds of stuff and am constantly trying new recipes. I try 3 or four NEW recipes every week.
I like creating almost anything, except babies, been there done that!!! Ha Ha!!! People tell me that I am thoughtful, which I really do try to be, it makes others happy and alot of the time it's free!
I tend to be a bit "over" organized, but I like to find the stuff I'm looking for. And one warning, I like to talk (babble) and it's not to hear my own voice because I do it on paper and on the computer as well, and I can't hear myself now can I???
I love 80's rock. Alot of the good old Canadian rock bands that alot of you have never heard of if you live in another country, as well as american and international bands. I used to be considered a "headbanger" back in the days, but I was a closet listener to music other than heavy metal. I like some country, some of todays hits, mostly anything with a good beat.
I love to read!! True crime, light reading detective-y novels (Sandford, Grisham), COOKBOOKS!!!! magazines,craft books, and do it yourself books. I have tons and tons of books (ask the people that helped me move lol). I did go through alot of them this winter and donated a number of them and sold others. I also like history and vintagey books. After teaching my kids to respect books, I've become a major disappointment to them..... I've been cutting up books!!! My justification is: I aquire books specifically to cut up, I don't just cut anything!! They don't buy it, but oh well!
I don't watch too many movies, all the way through that is, I fall asleep!!! I do like a good comedy, with Jim Carey, Robin Williams; some dramas, but not, never, no way HORROR!!
CSI, Without a Trace, What Not to Wear, Iron Chef, Deal or No Deal, Investigative Reports, Law and Order, Project Runway, Desperate Housewives, some sports, not "addicted" to anything, but if I need a break, I can usually find something I enjoy! However, when I do take the time away from my glue sticks to watch TV, I usually fall asleep about 10 minutes before the show ends!!
Pretty much anything crafty, papercrafts, clay, crossstitching, altered art, sewing, matchboxes, I don't like knitting or crocheting. I got out of the whole craft thing for a number of years due to lack of time, energy, inspiration and reason, but I'm glad to say that I never got rid of any of the supplies that I accumulated, because now I'm baaaack and loving every minute of it!!!
Rainbow embossing powder, I keep ordering powders and can never find the right one, but I love any embossing powder :)
I keep adding, I know, but I figure the more I add, the easier it is for my partners!!
I open my packages in front of the computer, so anything that you send me is rated or acknowledged AS SOON as I open it. I rate as fairly as I possibly can. I understand how life can catch up to a person sometimes, but I'm usually pretty forgiving as long as there is communication. I appreciate the same consideration in return.
Hearts are given for the quality of the swap!! Although I appreciate extras, I do not base my ratings on them!!! I take care in the packages that I send, and try to send out quality swaps, usually with extras - but again, I expect to be rated on the swap, not the extras :)
I prepare my swaps in the order that they are due, usually, and try to profile base things as much as possible, whether the swap calls for it or not. For those reasons, I usually mail closer to the "send by" date than some. I try to mail things the quickest way possible, but if the postage jumps from $12 for standard to $30 for air, I'm sorry, it will be shipped standard.
