Native of Wellington, New Zealand. Work as a subeditor/page designer for The Dominion Page, a major metropolitan daily newspaper. Also write a weekly style column and produce its twice annual Fashion magazine. In love with my boyfriend of 11 years, our Staffy dog Cola and immediate family - particularly of late my first nephew Theo. In my spare time, I run a giftbag company called Money or The Bag. And am starting up a baby webstore called I See You Baby with my brother and his wife. Likes: 1960s prints the Green Lady and Chinese Girl by Vladimir Tretchikoff or the Crying Boy by Bragolin, Fuzzy Felt sets, old books, fashion, alternative music, bunny, three flying ducks or deer motifs, society relics like punch cards (as used in old factory time-clock machines), retro advertising and food product containers, old library cards, typewriter keys, hospital bracelets, dental x-rays and vintage butterfly or insect specimen displays.
Dislikes: The colour pink, anything 'girly, Britney Spears or other manufactured music, aliens ...
Where to start ... No Britney, Christina or Kylie, though.
Triplets of Belleville Bang Bang You're Dead The Virgin Suicides Amelie Naked Lunch The Crow Anything by Kevin Smith Ditto Quentin Tarantino Crash The Fast & The Furious
If it falls into the reality TV genre, I'll be watching it. Also The L Word and reruns of Felicity, Sex & The City plus 21 Jump Street.
Lovingly crafted by hand: Felt baby booties, bottle-cap jewellery and most other sorts, journals made from old books/record covers or boardgames, sushi or meat-themed crafts, CD mixtapes, knitted poodle toilet-roll holder (like in The Craftster Guide to Nifty, Thrifty & Kitschy Crafts book), a seatbelt buckle belt or baby clothes (think Stitch n Bitch's baby bunny hat + matching toy, onesies made from retro adult T-shirts etc). Plus items using old maps, retro food advertising, origami designs, toy soldiers, and my PC's printer - flipbooks, human photo dolls.
