I'm a mom, an artist, an art teacher. Two of my three kids are still little (relatively speaking) so I stay pretty busy, but when I have time I like to make something, learn something, or laugh about something (preferably, all three). My sense of humor runs the gamut from rather dark to sheer goofballness, and I'm fascinated with kitsch and toys.

Other semi-obsessions: I love beads, especially seed beads and unusual glass beads. I also love crystals, rhinestones, and anything oooooh shiny.

I also love to knit, so I love yarn of all kinds, especially cotton, linen, and cotton/rayon blends. I just recently learned how to knit socks! Yay! I love fabric too, especially fabric with funky and/or retro kitchy type designs.

I adore things that smell good -- candles, soap, incense -- and I like just about every scent except for vanilla or rose. Sandalwood, patchouli, nag champa and clove are my favorites.

I have an almost obsessive passion for lip gloss.

Mmmmmm, candy .. especially candy with fun and funky flavors or packaging. Coffee, tea, and all things caffeinated are also my friend :)

I also love things with words on them, old 1950s fashion ads, old anatomical illustrations, charms, cheap plastic toys, Kwan Yin, beads, tiaras, Anne Boleyn, anything that is odd or funky or that will make me laugh.

Favorite colors are purple, aqua, pink, lime green, and silver. I like just about any color, although I don't care much for earthtones or pastels.

I love to read. I love photography, and I'm finishing up a year-long self-portrait project this summer. I love to draw. Colored pencils are wonderful things. I'm trying to re-learn the French that I forgot a long time ago, so anything in French would be absolutely delightful. I love anything with squirrels. Or llamas.

I don't have many dislikes, but I don't really like flowery cutesie sentimental stuff. Or clowns. I definitely don't like clowns.

The best thing in the world to receive? Anything creative and handmade :) THAT'S my favorite!

My musical favorites are REM, The Beatles, U2, They Might Be Giants, Elvis Costello, and most music from the 80s. I like hearing new music too.

I don't watch TV much, but I have a few guilty pleasures: All My Children, American Idol, and House. I really miss Twin Peaks.

I love all creative pursuits, but especially drawing, beadwork, mixed media, photography, knitting, sewing.
