Response: Hi! I didn't send you a story, I sent you an essay, which makes me think that you've misidentified my swap. I apologize for not identifying the swap in multiple places, but there is no page 1, as it's an essay, and if you're looking for a storyline (which was not a requirement,) it's not on any of the pages. ALSO: You did not contact me before giving me a 3, which I realize is not required, but seriously, giving someone THEIR FIRST 3 is kind of a BIG DEAL! And I do think that there should be a little consideration and effort to communicate. PLUS, you aren't rating me down for being late or not following guidelines. I'm not exactly sure why you're rating me down, actually, and you misspelled 'want' as 'wont.' Again. The guidelines were to send ANY interpretation of the theme "Driving a Car At Night," and I sent an essay of my interpretation on time, fulfilling my swap requirements. You should not have rated down, and I don't appreciate ALL THE CAPITAL LETTERS AS THIS IS CONSIDERED EXTREMELY RUDE IN VIRTUAL SPACE, AS IT INDICATES YELLING. Thank you. UPDATE: 8.10.11 I felt that I approached the theme from an abstract, or less traditional point of view. I didn't really write about anything literal, but more in a figurative sense about being awake for the journey of life. I'm in an introspective place in my life right now... maybe I'm hitting my midlife crisis early, or just trying to avoid it altogether by learning from those who have gone before me... and so my writing has definitely taken a turn toward the reflective as well. I would love to be able to write little fluffy pieces of fiction, but it's not in me to put down words that mean nothing to me. I would be happy to dissect my own writing and style, but at that point, I believe it would feel a bit sanctimonious and self-indulgent. I'll watch for you in future swaps, and if we meet again, I will make sure I write something with a clearly defined beginning, middle and ending so there isn't any confusion. Again, my apologies.
