Comment: Hi Venus, I just got your PC yesterday - but it was worth the wait! When I was picking through my PCs to find one to send to my partner, I realized nearly all my art PCs must have been swapped, because I could only find a few. I was a little sad to part with one of my favorite paintings, “Woman at Her Toilette,” since it was is my favorite art movement (Impressionism), and by a favorite artist- and a woman! - Berthe Morisot!!! So when I got your painting PC “Girl with Dog,” I laughed, excited to have a Morisot in return, and then was pretty stunned to read your message, some sentences almost word for word to what I sent my partner! Impressionism has always been a big favorite of mine, because as you said, it’s like being in a dream but can come into perfect focus, but also, like I said to my partner, the lighter/reflecting areas make the painting “move” and come alive! I love that Morisot painted moments in time, not stiff posed portraits. I can definitely see that this girl’s dog has just run up to her, and her eyes being lifted makes me wonder if perhaps the dog didn’t return the stick she threw for it. I could go on and on and on, I love art and art history. Thank you so much for this card, it means a lot! xoxoxo
