USA and CANADA Only

If you are experienced in felt crafts or have only done a few but feel confident in your abilities to try something new - then please keep reading :)

If you do crafts quite a bit, you most likely need a pin cushion and already have one or more. However, here is the opportunity to use your felting skills to create a very original, colorful, and fun pin cushion for your partner.

Try to keep it within colors and interests that your partner will like, but how you go about it is all up to you. Include at least 3 pins to make it official and include a small note to your partner about why you chose to make that particular design.

Requirements: At least a 4.8 rating, no no-sends, and definitely planning to send it out on time. I'm giving this a nice timeframe in order to make sure everyone gets a nice piece and feels good about what they send. Happy Swappin' :)

For ideas and inspiration, don't forget to go on Flickr and search "felt pincushion" and thousands of great images will keep you entertained. The beehive pincushion pictured above is not my own creation but found on Flickr. That's all and good luck!

Can I use fabric or acrylic felt to make mine? (I am allergic to wool so I could use a wool pincushion but I could not sew one).

Does it have to be needle felted, or just made out of felt?

As long as it is some type of felt then you are set for crafting! I want this to be open for the most part, as long as it's some type of felt, that's all you need to worry about material-wise and the way you approach it. Also, definitely look on Flickr because most of those are good examples of what you could do - however, you are not limited to those, just be creative. I hope this answers all your questions.

This sounds so fun. I have already made two felt pincushions, but now I want to keep both... hahaha. Now what to do, keeping more or just send one of the ones I have already made. So many decisions

I signed up!

I've made over a least 300 pincushions and sold over 150 (gave many others away)... have been a major contributor in the book 'pretty little pincushions' and magazine, and help run the 770+ member 'Pincushion' group on flickr (http://flickr.com/groups/pincushions/) and my pincushions are some of the most viewed on all of Flickr - and the other pincushion swap is inspired by my work...

but I'm new to swapbot. Let me in anyway?

Partners will be assigned tonight or tomorrow morning/early afternoon (EST time) depending on certain e-mails/communication with a few swappers! Everything is fine, but making sure everyone is set to go. Can't wait :)

partners have now been assigned :)

If you have time to do so - take a photo and upload it on here so we can all see the different pincushions we came up with!
