Description:

So I thought this would be a good way to share/try techniques on ATC's that would inspire us to use them in future projects.

For this one you must create one ATC for each of your partners. This ATC must have a design made up of curled/rolled paper strips (aka QUILLING)

http://increations.blogspot.com/2008/07/quilling-basics.html

Sender's choice, so you don't have to wait till you get partners and you should be able to send early. Also, make something you would like to receive.

Must have at least 10 snail mail swaps under your belt, extensively filled out profile and a 4.9 or higher rating. Profiles will be checked.

Are we talking about quilling? Or having pieces of paper curled off the atc... I suppose i need a bit more clarification..

EnchantedKittenz: Thank you I didn't know the technical word until now. Yes this swap is for quilling paper. If anyone wants examples please google "quilling paper pictures"

Has anyone mailed these before? Any tips there?

Is there a suggested width of the quilling strips ( which becomes the height of the card )?

Thanks!

Lady: great questions. I have sent similar thickness cards and I usually protect them with a loose wrapping of plastic wrap (it works great). I'm going to GUESS and say the strips of paper are about 1/8 inches thick. This is new for me too so have fun, do your best and don't fret to much over it. Hope this is helpful and tx for asking. Happy swapping.

I usually cut my strips to 1/16 inch. I use them mostly on greeting cards. Have never had trouble with them in the mail. 1/8 inch strips mail well also. Although if the quilling is more of the filigree style you should protect with a layer of bubble wrap. Most of what I do are flowers and butterflys, they are quite sturdy. I am happy to see this swap posted. Cant wait till the swap date. Mine is finished and ready to go.. Fun Fun Fun..

Quick tip if you have not started yet... Much easier to attach a backing to your paper before you quill than after. You can guess how I know!
