Description:

This is for everyone who adores the concept of a hunter's journal, the show Supernatural, or any combination thereof.

I realize that creating an entire hunter's journal is not only time consuming in the extreme but difficult to let go of once completed. Still, I'd like to work on one and I know you guys would too! So here's the perfect swap for us! Create one to three hunter's journal pages/entries/articles and send to one partner. These should be :

well researched, full, organized, legible, detailed pages based around one hunt in the life of your hunter character.

This is NOT: a narrative; your character does not need to be featured and above all this entry is not //about// your hunter. All pages should be about the hunt itself. Think of it this way - the page you receive should be something that /your/ hunter would keep in /their/ journal for reference. Does that make sense? If you have questions about this please feel free to message me. If you choose to include images in your page(s) make sure they are of a good quality. No pencil sketches, please. For research components please cite your sources somehow. I want this to be authentic and fun! Put your heart into it!

IDEAS: You might include a map of the area you found the target in, an image of the creature you're hunting, lore surrounding the creature, how to kill it, warning signs of that creature's presence, things like that.

If you're going to be writing all of this in the context of a hunting job you might talk a little about what the target was doing that made you aware that something was going on, when you noticed it, when you arrived on the scene, where you found it, what might have made it act up, and when you left town. You might include relevant newspaper clippings.

If you're not comfortable working in the details of a hunting job itself you could always just make it more of a write up on one specific creature. That would detail about where they were first sighted in history, where they have been most commonly sighted, who in history has written about them before and what they said, how your experience with the creature differs from history, any new trends in the creature's behavior that may have occurred in this modern age. (like trolls in subway tunnels as opposed to under bridges, etc.) as well as information I suggested in the first paragraph of this ideas section.

Before signing up for this, please read the description in full. I don't write detailed instructions just for fun ya know.

Hey can I sign up for this even though I'm from the UK?

Tsukamei 02/13/2012 #

@Nightwolf899 - the swap is labeled USA only for postage reasons. It would be irresponsible of me to change that after people have already signed up. Thank you very much for your interest - please feel free to create your own Hunter's Journal Page swap.

I'm wondering...why no pencil sketches?

Tsukamei 02/20/2012 #

@CreepyGirl

because they smudge over time. pen sketches in ink that won't damage the rest of the journal is fine.

I'm a NEWBIE :( But this swap is right up my alley! I am 100% loving the concept of this swap & already have a few ideas on what i'm going to send. So, may I join please? :-)

@Tsukamei thank you, I can understand that (I usually coat pencil sketches but then I don't do that many and I prefer ink).
