Description:

You will decorate a small (32 count) matchbox or print this template (from Rachel's blog) on cardstock and decorate it after putting it together.

Decorate the matchbox with a St. Patrick's Day or other March related decorations. After the matchbox is dry, fill it with goodies such as:

  • small stickers
  • brads
  • 5" lengths of ribbon
  • other small objects

To make it extra special, try to add a variety of items related to the theme of the box.

Please remember that this is for beginner's so as long as an honest effort was put into decorating and filling the matchbox it has filled the requirements and should be rated accordingly.

What would you say is the safest way to mail these? I'd love to join, but I'd be worried about it getting crushed in transit.

Usually inside a small jewelry box just slightly bigger than the matchbox keeps them safest. If you don't have a jewelry box, old check boxes with paper filling around the matchbox, or I have even received them wrapped in bubble wrap in a bubble envelope and they have came intact!

If you do send them in an envelope, please be sure to write Fragile, or Hand Cancel on the envelope so the Post Office doesn't try to run it through the machine!
