This swap is being hosted by request of @catsandbutterflys . Page by Page art journals are perfect for both the beginner and experienced visual artist - take part in as many or as few as you wish. We will be swapping an art journal on the go, completing three pages then swapping; then with the journal we receive, completing the next swap and so on. So potentially after a while you may receive a full art journal with a variety of art in it! Step 1: Either BUY, MAKE or USE an art journal that you have that has been started by yourself (or someone else in a previous Page by Page art journal swap). The journal is it be approx. 15cm x 21cm or A5 sized. Each journal is to have at least 15 pages and the paper must be able to withstand mixed media applications. Step 2: Complete 3 facing pages. Spread A) About You! Include your name, either real or your Swap-bot username. You may also wish to include such info as your career, hobbies, sports, pets, family, contact details of some kind, etc. After that the sky is the limit! Spread B ) Your Art! You choose the subject, the mediums, the message, etc. and make a journal entry however you like. Use your style or try something new - get creative. Spread C) Start a Page! This can be anywhere in the book. We all know how a blank page can look so sad, so do something to a blank page - splash some paint, prime it, add a journal prompt, a rub-on, stamp and image, add a magazine cut out - whatever - to start the next journaler on their art making. Step 3: Send your journal to your parnter. Minimum requirement is that you have completed at least 6 type 3 swaps and been rated at least 4.85. RECAP ON JOURNALS: If you are buying your journal, an artist sketch book type is preferable but obviously if you wish to use watercolour paper or other thicker mixed media paper book, that's great too. If you are binding your own, rings, cords, stab bindings or whatever will hold it all together securely is important. It is not necessary to decorate the title page or covers - that is up to you or you may leave that to the recipient. There is no correct way to journal and you don’t need to buy expensive supplies but here a few jumping off points. Making an altered book journal remains of the day OR junk journal |
