Is this international, or just within one country? What's the accessory? Is there a minimum/maximum spending limit? Do the aprons have to be handmade, or could they be store-bought or vintage? I'd love to join since I love aprons, but I need more information first.

CrochetCupcake 02/15/2008 #

Sorry - I hit post before I finished editing. Once you join, please list in these comments if you prefer a half- or full/bib apron, and a few fabric suggestions. HOWEVER, all swappers should be open to receiving whatever their partner crafts -- that's half of the fun of swapping with new friends!

heatherlayne 02/15/2008 #

Huzzah! Thanks for the message and the info, I'm looking forward to the swap!

I would love an apron in pink and/or black, most especially polka-dots. (Ric-rack is fantastic too.) My kitchen is sort of 50's-themed, and I love vintage-looking aprons. I don't have a preference for half aprons or full aprons, but I will say that I have one full apron and three half, so maybe another full would be good. Yay!

Magpieandluna 02/15/2008 #

those aprons are so cute!

CelestialFreak 02/15/2008 #

Bummer March is already packed for me, but I love this swap. Please host it again!

NanaDeb 02/16/2008 #

Thanks for the invite. I love sewing arons. These sound like a blast:D For my partner, I'm big so long ties would be great. This is going to be fun.

NanaDeb 02/16/2008 #

Should I say Aprons LOL

Rogue 02/18/2008 #

For my partner, I'm average size (size 8-10) but I like long, WIDE ties so I can have a big ol bow at the back. I like bib aprons, but they are always too long for me, since I'm really short. I like 1950's styled aprons, with ruffles, princess seams and POCKETS (So I can carry my mp3 player around when I'm cleaning.) I prefer smallish prints, too, like polka dots or cherries.

Beelicious 02/20/2008 #

Thank you for the Invite!! I am so Excited to get back to swapping!

I Love half aprons but, I will totally leave it up to my Partner! I Love surprises!! I wear Small/Medium- 5'4"

Have fun!! :OD

LeCoreFemme 02/20/2008 #

I am so excited about this swap.. I can't wait to see who my partner is so I can get started. :)

My preferences:

I would prefer a full/bib apron, but whatever my partner feels more comfy making is good with me.

and as for color/fabric and such, I will leave that up to my partner as well.. If you want suggestions maybe something with a retro 50's style or cupcake or coffee theme.. But like I said, that's my partners/designers choice..

smooches..

CrochetCupcake 02/21/2008 #

I'm going to sound like a broken record player, since my likes are YOUR likes! LOL!!

I prefer a full/bib apron (messy cook!) and LOVE cupcakes, cherries, polka dots, pink/brown combos. That said, I'm easy to please so make what's fun!

Oh, I'm also a tall plus-size gal so lo-o-o-o-n-g ties please.

Punkrockertracey 02/21/2008 #

I am actually participating in the Sassy Apron Swap and I have become addicted to aprons!!! For my partner - I love brown, pink, black, gray and red. Any of those colors are great. I really have been trying to find a "Texas" style apron for BBQ's and dinner parties - since I live in Texas now. I haven't found anything as of yet with fringe or cowboy material. If my partner can find it or create it that would be great, however I am totally open to whatever creative apron my partner may make. Thanks!

Punkrockertracey 02/21/2008 #

I forgot to mention that I am a 12/14 sized girl. Thanks!

ChiknGirl 02/21/2008 #

I loooove aprons! I like full or bib aprons, to keep my shirt dry while I wash dishes, with long ties to fit my ample bod. My favorite prints are stripes, polka dots, chickens and retro style prints. I wear an apron everyday and will be happy with whatever my partner chooses.

cmatzat 02/21/2008 #

I am so excited about the apron swap! What a fun idea!

For my partner, I would prefer a full apron (I love the Emmaline pattern mentioned by the swap host), but I'm really not picky. I love pink and small patterns like polka dots, but again, I'm not really that picky. :) I am kind of a small person (5 foot two inches and around 127 pounds), but I don't think that matters too much with aprons.

Cynthia (http://thematzats.blogspot.com)

Jennicakes 02/21/2008 #

I'm so excited to have found this swap! I love girly pink things and am about a size 6!

RunawayOctober 02/22/2008 #

Yay! I'm so excited.

I prefer full aprons and super-duper long ties, as I'm "curvaceous" and like to tie my aprons in the front. I love super large graphics, anything nature based, stripes and things that are extremely girly. I also love surprises. :D

Can't wait to get my partner!

CONTEST ALERT!!!! Here's what's posted at the swap blog, http://flirtyapronswap.blogspot.com:

Leap To It --- Early Registration Giveaway

Okay ladies, here's our first giveaway open to everyone who has joined the Flirty Apron Swap prior to midnight PST on Leap Day, February 29, 2008.

Jan from Maple Lane Apron Company is giving away a gorgeous and flirty Havana Apron to one lucky swap participant! All you have to do is visit the Maple Lane Apron Company site and browse around, then go back to the Flirty Apron Swap blog and tell me what your two favorite items are in her shop by leaving a comment on the site. If you would like to enter a second time, blog about this giveaway at your own site, then leave the link to your post in a second comment. I will pick a random winner on March 1. Good Luck!

Jan says, "Maple Lane Apron Company is proud to be a sponsor in the Flirty Apron Giveaway. This is the first giveaway that I have had the pleasure of being part of. I started my company in October of 2007. I began with the idea of selling handmade aprons and a few kitchen accessories but after looking at many blogs and websites I have decided to carry other items such as Teapots, Teapot cozies, copper cookie cutters and other other kitchen and home accessories. I am proud of the fact that all of the products, with the exception of the teapots, are proudly made in the U.S.A."

I have to tell you that I just received my first order from Maple Lane and I am so pleased! My shipment arrived very quickly, it was carefully packaged in a gift box with hand-tied ribbon and note, then the aprons inside were wrapped in tissue with more ribbons ... I was sold before I even touched my new aprons! And what quality the aprons are ... carefully handmade with exceptional attention to details. ~Shawnee

P.S. Ladies, please be sure to post the swap button on your blog if you have one.

soutxcc 02/23/2008 #

I am excited to be joining this swap. I am in two other apron swaps and just finished those and mailed off.

For my partner I am open to about anything although I am kinda particial to the girly thing. (size L) You decide.

Can't wait to read about my partner.

catsmeow 02/23/2008 #

I love aprons and love to make them, can't wait to get started on my partners'.

I love bright colors, stripes, paisleys, polka dots, large flowers or cats, of course!

I prefer the full/bib apron with wide ties, if possible.

=^..^=

BluEyedPenny 02/23/2008 #

Hi everyone! I don't have a preference as to the apron specs, (full or half apron). I would love to have one that could coordinate with my kitchen though! My kitchen is done in white, black and Kitchen Aid red! :)

Can't wait to start, looks like we are all going to have a lot of fun!

pinkaboo 02/25/2008 #

I am so excited to be joining this swap! This is one of the first I'm participating in, and I love, love, love the idea of aprons.

For my partner - My favorite color is pink, and I love retro print fabics, and enjoy the 50s styling. Other then that, I have no preferences, and am just super excited to see what my partner creates for me :-) Oh, and I'm a size L.

Can't wait to find out who my partner is!

mwnjw 02/26/2008 #

I love it all -- vintage, mixing up the prints, girly girly stuff. My kitchen is all beach-related. I'm a size M. And thanks to Shawnee for hosting this swap!

Beezekneesfashions 02/27/2008 #

I am a big fan of novelty prints and love kitchy kitchen prints. I love the aprons of the 40s and 50s. Since I am the opposite of petite (translation: size large), I tend to shy away from small prints and pink. My partner should feel free to do what she feels and not pay one lick of attention to my preferences -- my love of surprises overrides my "preferences". I can't wait to get started!

yarnigras 02/28/2008 #

I'm in Lucy's sassy apron swap and now an apron obsessed woman. My husband just laughs at me. For my partner.....I put stuff in my profile for aprons but since everyone is listing it here.....I'm 5'2 and 105 pounds so I need a size small. If it has a bib, please split the neck ties as the bib always hangs to my waist.
I love funky, polka dots, mushrooms and hedgehogs, cupcakes, ladybugs, flower power type retro and psychedelic mushroom retro fabrics are great.
After saying that, the thing I prefer most is it being HANDMADE. I don't like those canvasy things the stores call aprons.........

nava 02/29/2008 #

I prefer a full bib apron, because with my own sloppiness plus baby 'additions' I get my tops filthy! As for fabric, I love turquoise/aqua and brown; I'm slowly decorating our home with those colors. Also I'm vegetarian, for the sake of recipes :)

yarnigras 03/ 1/2008 #

count down..........

Egater 03/ 1/2008 #

I'm so sad that swap is US only :( Maybe next time is international - one Estonian would like to participate :) So let me know when next round will start

CrochetCupcake 03/ 2/2008 #

LAST DAY TO SIGN UP! Be sure your profiles are complete, and watch for your author invitation to the swap blog.

cakemaker 03/ 2/2008 #

Yay, so excited! I just finished the sassy apron swap and was already planning my next apron when I found this swap. OK, preferences...full bib if possible, a pocket is always nice, and I'm a cake decorator so anything cake related is always fun for me! I'm a size medium, and I love green and birds, leaves, flowers, or whatever!

vintageyaya 03/ 2/2008 #

So excited about this swap! Half or full apron would be great. I love retro looking fabric from the 40s,50s,60s, but am open to anything lovely! I think I look best in greens, blues, black, brown. I am pretty tall, 5'10 and a size 16. I have a couple of days off this week and can't wait to get started!

CrochetCupcake 03/ 3/2008 #

Check your SPAM folders, because I have sent blog author invitations to everyone. That means if you want to, you can now start your own messages and post pictures on this swap's blog.

I understand not everyone wants to be a blog author or is able to take photos but even if you don't become an author, you can still have a voice by adding comments to posts others have started and will still be able to participate in all contests at the swap blog website.

So, let's hear from you gals. Post either here or at the blog some fabric hints or tell us which pattern you're thinking about making! Are you excited to get your partner soon??

LindaRuthie 03/ 3/2008 #

Hi everyone. I just signed up at the last minute for this one. My preferences are on my profile but the most important thing to know if you are my partner is that I wear an extra large. The "one size" patterns (unless it's a half apron) run too small for me. This will be my first apron swap. I'm so excited! CrocherCupcake, I received your invitation and now I suddenly have my own blog. How did this happen? It looks like fun but any advise on blogging would be appreciated.

CrochetCupcake 03/ 3/2008 #

Welcome Linda --- I didn't think about Google starting a blog it but believe that you have an address (or parking spot on the internet, if you will) if you ever want to being blogging. Nothing has to be done with it if you don't want to, but it's waiting in case you ever want to start one.

Frankenpug 03/ 3/2008 #

Hey girls! I too was just finishing my sassy swap apron when I stumbled upon this one...I am excited to get right back into aproning!

I also prefer the full apron I am size 8/10 and I like long ties.

I have pics of all of the aprons I have made on my blog. www.hbender.blogspot.com

That being said, I always appreciate someone elses creativity so GO WILD! I will love it!

Frankenpug 03/ 3/2008 #

One more thing...

I want to add the swap button to my blog...can anyone help me out here? I am not very blog savvy:)

yarnigras 03/ 3/2008 #

I tried to but it wouldn't "link." I thought it was just me....

sauvageblue 03/ 3/2008 #

I love the Emmaline pattern also it is so feminine. I am a messy cook so a apron like the emaline or a bib style would be fantabulous and if possible I need the neck ties split I am full figured on top. I love all the new revived vintage styles, I love shabby chic, I love feminine style. I am a size 10 lady and I adore pockets and ric-rac. I adore aprons. Thank you swap partner I am so excited....

Creations 03/ 4/2008 #

I am excited to start the apron!! I am a size 8 and love full aprons. I am messy in the kitchen. As I stated in my profile I am a girly girl. I love the Emmaline pattern also. My kitchen is brick red and gold and greens. I'm one of those craftes that always tries to match things. Thanks partner I cant' wait to meet you... and I can't wait to send mine off...Blessings

lulubelle04 03/ 4/2008 #

I'm so excited to finally get my partner's name. I'm a size 6/8 and would be happy with anything that my partner sends me. I like all kinds of prints and colors, but especially like the newer big mod type prints. I would like a bib apron, but as I said anything will make me happy. Thanks to Shawnee for hosting this swap and a big thanks to my partner in advance.

LeCoreFemme 03/ 4/2008 #

Also for my partner... I am an XL and like long ties. :)

I can't wait to see everyones creations!

Have fun all!

sarahross 03/ 4/2008 #

Ooh! I am so excited to get started. As for my partner: I am a size 6/8. I am WAY messy in the kitchen so a full apron would be great, however I would love a half, too. As for colors and patterns...let your creative genius run free. Have fun!

BWildered 03/ 4/2008 #

I'm so excited about this swap! My kitchen is decorated in Mary Engelbreit and primary colors. I'm not a HUGE flower person, but some of them are okay. I love the vintage look. Cupcakes are my newest obsession. I prefer a full apron but will take either. I need an XL with long ties please! Looking forward to what I get!!

BountifulAcres 03/ 7/2008 #

Hi! This is my first swap-bot swap and I'm excited to be part of it. I love girly- things and vintage things and I live on a farm so I use my aprons a lot!! I would need an XL with long ties also. (I guess I enjoy tasting to much of the baked goods! LOL!!) This is going to be so much fun! Sue at Bountiful Acres.

giabelladesigns 03/13/2008 #

I am new to this so I guess you can say that I am really late in posting what my likes and dislikes are for the apron! Anyway, even if I am too late, I will still convey. I love half aprons but I don't own a full apron so I am sure I would love that too. I love the latest styles of the full apron, not so boxy in the bib area. I love BLACK, PINK, RED, WHITE and GREEN! Anything would be awesome though!!!!!! I am not small so I guess I would be a medium. I love long ties so I could tie around the front. My tastes in fabric run along the Ginger Blossom (Sandi Henderson), Chocolate Lollipop (Anna Maria Horner) and Fresh Cut (Heather Bailey). I am just excited to receive anything someone put thought into making for me.

Frankenpug 03/22/2008 #

I finished my apron today!! I am usually never on time so I am VERY excited to be done. I hope my partner loves the apron...it is my first apron that I have created not using a pattern. I think it turned out super cute! I can't post on the swap blog so I posted some teaser pics on my own blog...hbender.blogspot.com

FINAL CONTEST ALERT - Flirtiest Apron!!

If you have not sent/posted a picture of your apron, please do so immediately!!! If you HAVE sent/posted a picture and it is NOT in the Gallery yet, email me immediately! THANKS!!

To wrap up our first Flirty Apron Swap, you have to opportunity to vote on the Flirtiest Apron sent during this swap and possibly win something for yourself, too!

The prize for whomever created the winning apron: a PAIR of mother/daughter aprons that I selected from http://www.Twinklebelle.net - Flo at Twinklebelle has generously donated this prize and you all get to choose the winner! Here's a little bit about this company:

Twinklebelle Home and Crafts (located in Vancouver, BC) is very pleased to participate in this fun apron swap event by offering a set of mother daughter aprons to the winner.

Twinklebelle was started in 2004 with a few handmade aprons. Now it offers many styles of fabulous aprons and other practical and unique products for families. Our group now consists of a few moms working around busy schedules of products development and kids' activities. We all enjoy our work very much.

We love aprons for the unbounded design flexibilities as we can be bold on colors and a little crazy on patterns. Our everyday aprons tend to be more contemporary while our holiday aprons embrace more traditions.

Twinklebelle helps children in poverty by offering tuition assistance. This program was set up in 2005 and currently sponsors three students.

How to vote: First, visit the Flirty Apron Swap Photo Gallery and choose which apron you think is the "Flirtiest" and note who made it. Then, look around Twinklebelle.net and choose your favorite from their large assortment of adult/child matching aprons. Aprons are on several different pages, so be sure to really look through their site. Finally, come back to the Flirty Apron Swap Blog and leave a comment on this post telling us 1) WHO you believe created the Flirtiest Apron and 2) WHICH apron set from Twinklebelle should be awarded to the winner. Feel free to also include other positive comments about our sponsor's store with your vote -- I ADORE their products and know you will, too!!! If you end up purchasing anything there, please let Flo know you found them through our swap.

Last opportunity to vote/comment (change your vote/comment LOL!) is midnight Saturday, April 20th. I will tally all the results and announce the winner on Sunday the 21st. Please vote only once.

How do you win, too? Everyone who correctly guesses which Twinklebelle apron set I chose as Flirtiest Apron Contest prize is automatically entered into a separate drawing and one lucky name will be randomly selected to receive the adult oops CHILD-size of THAT apron set as a gift from me! YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE YOUR OWN BLOG OR BE AN AUTHOR ON THIS BLOG TO ENTER .... if you need to post a comment "anonymously," just be sure to sign your name so I can contact you if you win.

Wow, what a wrap-up! THREE aprons to be given away, TWO contests in ONE! Thank you for participating in this swap. It's been so much fun!!
