Description:

***First note of business is that this is a US only swap - if there is someone who wants to hold an International one that is fine with me - Postage has become more of an issue and I am not sure the international regulations concerning odd size packages. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

For this swap you will use a tube (a toilet paper tube! - we all have those LOL!)

You can fold one end over to seal it or smoosh to make it flat and glue or tape shut. or maybe make an end cap. However you wish to close off the end.

Then stuff it full of ribbon. 1 yard pieces in length please - can be longer but not shorter! Use multiple types or shades or whatever you wish to fill the tube then tape, smoosh cap or whatever the other end so you have a sealed off Tube O' Ribbon!

Now address it with your partner's info and mail it on to them! No need for special boxes or anything - you can mail it as is (as long as your tube isn't broken open - you gotta be careful with the smooshing part LOL!)

If you are concerned about your ribbon getting wet please line the inside with plastic or put the ribbons you are using into a plastic baggie then stuff it in there.

This is supposed to be fun - we all like to get fun mail and who would think a toilet paper tube

Feel free to add a mini surprise in with the ribbon if you like or to decorate your tube up also and then use a label to put the address info on it.

If you have a low rating or a history of not sending I will remove you from this swap. It is no fun to play one sided and I do not want anyone disappointed. I do use various lists created to weed out the flakers as best I can before assigning partners. I will also check out newbies as best I can. If you have low rating or a lot of recent negative feedbacks I will ban unless I hear from you. It is your job to explain to me not mine to track you down for an answer :) Thanks in advance for your understanding. I am trying to make these swaps as fun as possible and it is not fun when you send and don't get anything in return.

Edited Part:

1.) Some have asked about the PO not accepting anything but envies or boxes so please do what you need to do if they won't accept stick it in something else to mail - at least you tried :)

2.) Tube sizes - please if you wish to use a larger tube (paper towel or wrapping paper) feel free the requirement though is only a tp one so please remember when rating - did the items meet the requirement that is what to rate on now how big your tube was LOL!

3.) Have fun be creative - I hate too many rules and I love to see how creative one gets with the general idea/theme!

Question was posed what about those PO's who are PITA's about anything not in a box or envelope can we still play? so I say YES!

If you can mail the tube that would be awesome getting something unique is fun BUT no one should be penalized for the PITA Postal Rules of individual offices so yep use a box if you have to!

hugs, Karyn!

I find the paper towel tubes are a little stronger.

What a great idea!! I am in.

3Yorkie Mom - yes I think they might be too but they were longer and I wasn't sure how much ribbon people wanted to give away at once LOL! I packed up tp tube to try it out and I got 6 yards in there plus a little bit of goodies. I mushed the ends together and stapled them and it made a nice little package LOL! Anyway please feel free to use the paper towel one if you wish - I would think that being more over and above should be a star contender LOL!

I managed to get about 10 yards in a tp tube plus a tiny spool of ribbon too in mine. I made end caps out of card stock and then I taped the hell out of it! Hopefully it will go--if not, I get it'll get shoved in an envie like it is! =^_^=

I squashed the ends of a tp roll and sealed it but because of what I had put inside it made some noise and my cats just "assumed" it was thier toy and to tell you the truth I havent seen it in a couple days. Oh well, I will find it with sping cleaning :)

Mine is ready to go, but where is my partner? This is the 11th. I think I got 11 yds in mine.

my apologies to everyone - I had some personal issues and it totally slipped my mind to log back on and assign partners - I have done it now :) I also extended the due date to the 20th for you all so no one is late because of me! Have fun!

sultrypeacock 03/12/2008 #

Thank you for the deadline extension! I really like to contact my partners and establish some sense of who they are when I swap, so the extra few days for the pms to turn around really helps me out!

Molimo 03/13/2008 #

I sent mine off in a soap box-I figured it was from the same general area as the TP roll.

catsmeow 03/13/2008 #

I just mailed mine-I had to go get an envelope! He said it was too small to go in the machine-it would eat it up! It has to be 3.5"X5". So take an envelope with you, save a trip! Glenna

sultrypeacock 03/14/2008 #

Mine went into today's mail. :) ...uhoh about the envelope- size thing. I hope it gets through as posted!!

qmock 03/21/2008 #

I too, was told that the tube was too small.(length was ok, width was not) I contacted my partner to let her know I have to re-package the ribbons. I will send out on Saturday! Susan (qmock)
