Description:

USA/CANADA ONLY!!! I am SOOOO SORRY international friends:((( Shipping packages overseas has totally drained my pocketbook, so I really need to give international swaps a rest for awhile.....SO SORRY!!! If someone would like to host an international version of this feel free to do so:)))

I don't know if a swap like this has ever been done here, but I think it's a cool idea so decided to go for it?))) If I have stolen someone's idea...I am so sorry!!! Please let me know and it won't happen again!!!

OK.......this swap has two parts to it, so here goes:)))

PART I:

Ok.....this is for all you poets out there who love writing poems and enjoy a bit of a challenge. Each person that signs up will list in the comment section 5 themes that they would like for their partner to write a poem about. Matter of fact, you won't exactly list the theme, instead you will create titles for the poem. Like for instance....you might like for your partner to write you a poem entitled......Love Me, Love Me Not, or.....At the Rainbow's End, or My Best Friend. Just come up with titles for 5 poems for your partner to write about. Ok, now....when partners are assigned, you will look at your partner's list and choose one title and create a poem to go along with the title you choose. The poem MUST be typed or very neatly hand-written and the poem MUST be atleast 12 lines long. If you want to write more than 12 lines that will be even better, but MUST be no shorter than 12 lines. Also....PLEASE make your poetry look nice. You can embellish the page if you like, add some pretty stickers, add some pictures, type or write on pretty stationary. Whatever you would like to do, but please don't just send an ordinary plain piece of white paper. Let's make our poetry pretty enough that it can be framed or added to a journal if your partner chooses to do so.

PART 2:

Now, you must send along a small surprise that relates to your poem. For instance....if you mentioned a 'rainbow' in the poem, you may choose to send a rainbow keychain or rainbow suncatcher or notecards with rainbows on them. Or....if your poem in about angels send something with an angel on it. Don't go out and spend alot of money on this. Let's limit spending to $3-$5. Please look at profiles and send something you think your partner will like.

RATING REQUIREMENTS: To join this swap, you must have atleast a 4.5 rating with no unexplained 1's or 3's within the past 3 months. If you have acquired a 1 or 3 recently shoot me a PM and we will discuss your indivitual circumstances. I will make a decision on a case to case basis. Newbies welcome with a VERY WELL FILLED OUT profile and I do mean....VERY WELL FILLED OUT!!!

I will plan on angeling if you get flaked on or if I am unable to angel, I will find someone to angel for you. Hopefully we won't have any problems here:) I will be checking profiles carefully before assigning partners.

OH....ONE LAST THING!!! As far as rating your partner for this swap.........if you receive a poem and a surprise that meets the guidelines, no matter if you like the poem or not, or don't think it is written very well....that doesn't matter. I am sure most of us are not professional poets. All we can do is our best work and that is all we can ask of anyone....just do your best!!! If you receive a poem and surprise that meets the swap guidelines, you will be expected to rate atleast a 5 and possibly a heart if you fee that the package you receive is worthy of a heart....Ok???

Betty, I have joined the swap but I hope you'll consider a change in your description. Many fine poems have twelve or more lines but really are only one or two sentences. I hope you'll consider changing the word sentence to lines, you'll get better poems and won't scare off as many people.

My five title:

Peope Watching

Changing Clouds

Havest Moon

Dancing Naked

Walking Alone

@Junemoon you know what? I started to put 12 lines then changed it to sentences. I wasn't quite sure how to word it. I'm kinda new at poetry, lol. Thanks for the suggesion. Yes, I will change this right now:)

Thanks, Betty, your first impulse was right. I'm glad you changed it.
