Description:

This is an anything goes swap. The theme is Tree of Life.

In the U.S., "you call it" is used in bars to advertise alcohol specials where they'll make any kind of mixed drink you want at a fixed price. In this case, I am using it to mean that the creator chooses the format. If you sign up, you can make atcs, frameable art, a t-shirt, jewelry, a postcard, an altered book or bookcover, etc. You decide your format, but feel free to consult your recipient, if you wish.

This is the first swap I've hosted, but the Tree of Life symbolism has been my favorite for a long time. Very often, the Tree of Life is depicted as a flourishing organism above ground, host to birds and other animals, while equal or greater development of the tree exists below ground as its root system. To me, this is a reminder that greatness and growth come from roots, evident from the surface or not. This is my interpretation, but, as with the media used in your project, your take on it will be of your own choosing.

You will send one or more items in one package and you will receive one package. I feel I can not put monetary value on the swap because I intend for items to be primarily handcrafted. Send item(s) of a quality you would be excited to receive. That being said, this swap is open to newbies. This swap is also open internationally.

I will assist swappers with a score of less than 4.0 by removing them, so that they will not injure their karma with this swap as they have with others. :)

Send your work by Dec. 1, but try to notify your partner in advance of that date if it looks like you are going to be late. And please ask if you have any questions about this swap.

I'm glad you liked it! It's one of the most favorite things that we made when we were making wooden ornaments.

Wow! What beautiful artwork. I am going to try scanning it and posting a pic. If this doesn't work, I'll wait until daylight and take a nice picture. I'm so happy! All of the windows in my house have solar screens to reduce the heat impact of the sun. I think it would be okay to hang in the window in this case, don't you think? I've never seen this type of silk-in-a-frame. I don't understand how it's mounted! Did you mount it, or do you buy it that way? The pic came out okay, so check the gallery. Thanks a bunch!

Catgirl, your tree has been done but it's waiting for me to get to the postoffice. Thanks for being understanding.

Veena, Thanks for your kind remarks. I purchased the silk that way from Dharmatrading company. Great company for supplies. I think you are safe placing it in a window with solar screens. The light really enchances it. Shechanges
