This is the first in our "Weird Localities" swap series. For those familiar with this book series in the US, "Weird US" (and further books have been done on states and regions) explores local legends, lore, monsters, myths, phenomena and hauntings. In keeping with this notion, the locality, in this place, is yours. So if you're from Boston, it'll be Weird Boston. Berlin? Weird Berlin. Johannesburg? Weird Johannesburg. Simple enough, right? And every place has it's favorite ghosts! If you've never bothered to look into your own local ghost lore, this is your chance. Of course, if you rival your local historian in local ghost knowledge, this is also your chance to show off! Swap Details On an 8x10 (or European equivalent) piece of cardstock, you will create a piece of art that illustrates a scene from the tale, the ghost itself, or the entire story if you're feeling adventurous. It can be hand-drawn, painted or collaged/mixed media. On the back of the page, share the story. Handwritten or typed is fine. You may copy the story from a book or paraphrase it in your own words. And let us know...do you believe it? I'm leaving a long lead time in our first group swap - long enough for other members to find us and join and long enough so that you can worry about Christmas first! Leave a 0.5-inch (1.27 cm) margin so that your partner can bind your creation as they see fit. |
