Description:

You know who you are but who would you be? A fair maiden cruelly cursed by a wicked witch? Or a witch who just wishes these air headed maidens would stop eating her prize apples? Do you fight dragons or do you eat knights? Are you a wizard looking to transmute toads from mere mortals, or a toad aspiring to a higher state of being?

Whoever, and whatever, you are or would be, join this swap to meet someone who understands. This is a swap to send a letter, written from the POV of someone in a fairy tale/fantasy world. You can be a character from an established fairy tale, or make up a new identity from whole cloth, but make it interesting to get a response back! In your profile make a section labeled FAIRY TALE and describe your "person" so your partners know who to write to.

If you want to, make it a little special. Find (or make) a paper that looks a little ancient to write on. Send an "amulet" to protect your new friend. Draw a map of your own little piece of the kingdom. It's not required but anything worth doing is worth overdoing, right?

Not to tell you how to run your swap, but a 3.0 rating means either they flake on half of all their swaps.... Or late send all of them....

Yeah, but I like to give folks another chance. I'm a sucker like that. I figure, if they DO flake I can angel a letter, and I keep track of flakes in my swaps and remove them if I see them again.

I think maybe some people mess up early in their swapping lives and find it hard to find another swap later when they grow up and start wanting a fresh start.

@MamaMay has an excellent point. This swap is going to be a flaker magnet. People with a 4.80 rating need redemption, too. If you want to give people who made a mistake (and are not serial flakers) a chance, I would suggest starting with a minimum rating somewhere in the 4.75-4.80 range. Even then, you WILL get flakers.

I'm just curious. So what exactly will we be writing? I understand basically making a character and rolling with it. But I am a little confused about who you meet other characters. Will we just be that they met in a random place?

LunarRose: You'll make that up, either write the letter as if you already know the person, or as if you were introduced, or any other situation you can think of.

I wrote mine in the first swap as if my partner had contacted myself or my teacher for help.

I am not joining this swap.... however I wanted to agree with kirkproductions. I have a rating of 4.93. I was in relationship in 2010 and had to escape the situation. I flaked on one swap because of the situation. Now I am not allowed to join a lot of swaps even though the incident was almost 3 years ago!

Just a reminder and I know I'm just a participant, not the coordinator, but PLEASE post your character by the time the swap opens. It's really unfair to your partners to hold off on that.

Just got my letters in the mail this afternoon, and apologize that I'm a day late with them, as the deadline was yesterday. Won't bother with lame exuses, just a sincere aplogy to my two swap partners.
