Please swap your best work! There is plenty of time to make something wonderful for your partner!

Hi there . . . I am new to ATC so looked it up online. I understand that they are like little pieces of art that you trade, not sell. However, on the 4 or so websites that I looked at, all of the ATCs seemed to be vintage or kind of odd looking, not pretty like the Bling ATC swap and this swap that you have. Could you clarify more for me please? Also, is it just a 2.5" x 3.5" piece of cardstock paper that I would use? Or is there a special type of card? Please advise!

Also, I've already sent in two swaps and will send the third tomorrow so should have a few 5 ratings soon!

Thank you, Andrea

An ATC is made on a sturdy piece of card stock or other. Some people use playing cards pieces of chipboard - even recycles cereal boxes and the like. An ATC can be of any theme.. This one features glitter and yes, the bling one as well as this may be "pretty", but it I love black glitter and have seem some gorgeous Halloween glitter and bling designs. Keep looking at ATC's on the internet for ideas... try a few with your own style and theme and see if you like it... if you do, you will get hooked!

I think there might be some groups for new ATC artists in Swap Bot too!

@andreatally you are quite right on what ATCs are. However, nowadays a lot of people are turning it from an art, into a craft.

Yes, @Lizard I think mine are more craft and not as artsy. I saw some amazing ATCs on Flickr and I was totally blown away. This particular creator was artistic to the max in very different ways. I strive for art... I just don't know if or when I reach it. Still, it's a compact and fun way to create without having to commit to a big project. I like that! 8-)
