Description:

To me, penpalling is a path to building solid friendships. Penpal friendships grow at different rates, some slowly over years, some with speed in a matter of weeks, all with varying lengths of letters. I've found that the people I really get close to either write long detail-filled letters OR simply write frequently (letters sometimes brief, sometimes long, often in between).

For this swap, we're going to try the "frequently" aspect.

I would like for everyone who joins this swap to be sincerely interested in building penpal friendships with others who are wanting to exchange letters at least twice per month long-term. View this swap as a sincere trial to see if you're potentially compatible. If so, write your partner back. If not, no obligations.

SWAP GUIDELINES:

  1. You will have one partner. (That means that you have 2 possible penpal opportunities, the one you write, the person writing to you.)

  2. You will be sending four letters total: two mailed between July 29 & August 3 and two mailed between August 5 & August 10. When all are mailed, you will click sent. (Edited to clarify: all four letters will go to your one assigned partner.)

  3. Letters must be handwritten and at least 2 pages (ie. one paper front & back or two pieces of paper; A5 / standard size or larger). They can include basic bios, stories of your days, elaborations of your interests, what you're looking for in a penpal, anything that will give your partner a true glimpse of who you are.

SIGN-UP REQUIREMENTS:

4.9 rating with at least 10 completed type 2 or 3 swaps; no recent 3s or unexplained 1s; any iffy swappers will be removed. Thank you. :)

There are some things I don't get.. you're saying 4 letters. So that means we'll have to wait for the letter to arrive from the other partner to reply or just your partner gets 4 letters? Explained: 1 letter to your partner (introduction) 1 letter to your partner writing to you (1st reply) 1 letter to your partner (1st reply) 1 letter to your partner writing to you (2nd reply) Is that correct?

FreeFeather: You will be writing four letters to your one assigned partner. By that, I mean the person you see when you click "See the partners you send to". None of these will be replies specifically. So, for example, I could send a basic intro letter to my partner on July 29th, a letter telling about my day on August 2, a letter sharing more about my favorite hobbies on August 5, a letter detailing what makes a penpal ideal to me on August 9. All of these letters will go to the same person. Once I've mailed them, I will click "sent" for the swap. Once the person receives my four letters, they will rate me. Then, they can decide whether or not they want to carry on a penpal friendship with me and write back if they do.

During this time, I will also be receiving from a different person who was assigned my name. After I receive their 4 letters, I will rate them on swapbot. Then, I will decide whether I think there's enough of a potential friendship connection to write back.

If things go well with both, I will have two new penpals. If not, I will just have sent and received 4 nice letters and try again. :D

This is basically like any other penpal swap, but you'll be sending your partner four letters in a short amount of time instead of just one. :)
