Description:

Have you heard the new trend call bookshelfies? It's taking a self portrait (selfie) in front of your bookshelf. Apparently these are a big thing right now. Want to see some? This tumblr has a bunch of them. Also has a number of creative ones.

So, this swap is bookshelfies. Now, I know this is kind of a personal swap to do. We swap items all the time, in email or via the post system, but seldom do we put our faces to our swaps. For all you all know, I have green hair and red eyebrows. So a bookshelfie is going to more personal than most swaps, because we're putting our selves out there, if not to the world, at least to our swap partners.

Here's what you do: take a photo of yourself (or get someone to take one of you) in front of a bookshelf. Bookshelf is going to hold a braod meaning here, because I know some people read almost exlclusively ebooks. So, whatever bookshelf you have handy works. It can be your bookshelf, it can be your ereader, it can be grandma's bookshelf, the local library, or even that turning rack of books the local drugstore has. It just needs to be reading related. So, if you're using an ereader, you might try and pull up a book on it while the photo is being taken.

So, take your photo, and send it to your partners. A human being needs to be recognizable in the photo. If that means you only show an eye and ear, or you show your whole face, it's up to you. If you want to upload it somewhere like imgur go for it. Submit it to the bookshelfies blog. Put it on your blog. Attach it as a file. Your choice.

5 partners. Email, or Swap Bot message. If you email, please BCC. Also, don't attach more than 2 or 3 images if you email, because some people might not want to download 50 megs of giant, uncompressed files.

Standard Carpe Librum rules apply: log in within a few days of the signup date, I still reserve the right to ban folks, however unlikely that may turn out.
