Description:

Wave All Your Fingers at Your Neighbor Day, Lumpy Rug Day, Collect Rocks Day, Look for Circles Day....there is a Bizarre, Wacky and Unique Holiday for just about everyone and everything. For this swap, you will select any one of the unusual holidays reported at the website linked above and use it as inspiration to decorate one envelope. Inside this envelope you will include a flat surprise also relating to the holiday you chose.

  • Your envelope can be any mailable size (at least 3.5"x5") and handmade or store-bought. Decorate it in the cut+paste collage style, adding additional mediums as you wish.

  • This is sender's choice, but do take some consideration of your partner's profile when selecting a holiday (especially any phobias, allergies or special diets).

  • The flat surprise you include can be handmade or store-bought. Examples of items that would be acceptable: new sticker sheets, a magnet, an ATC (if your partner collects them), a recipe on a decorated recipe card, a blank store-bought postcard, an art collage...

  • Whatever the item is, it needs to relate to the same unusual holiday you chose for your envelope decoration. If you chose Poultry Day, you could send a recipe that involves chicken (granting your partner isn't vegetarian). For Doughnut Day, you could send a doughnut magnet or doughnut stickers.

Be sure to enclose a note with your surprise that states the swap name and what unusual holiday you chose (in case it's not obvious).
