Description:

Pull out your CD collection and create a mad mix CD full of fabulous dark electronica!

Songs can have a dark theme or dark sound or both. Electronica is any form of electronic music (techno, chillout, etc). Make sure to include the playlist and send the CD in a case or sleeve.

Since mailing CDs is cheap and everyone's CD collection is different we'll all have two partners to swap with. The swap will be international.

Number of songs per CD is how many you can fit on one. Usually about 15, but electronica can be long, especially remixes, so make as full of a disc as you can.

No flakers, no no sends, no one with a rating under 4.5. I will check before assigning. If you can't go through with the swap, please don't sign up. Newbies welcome as long as you have a filled out profile!

I'd love to join this swap but I want to make sure I understand what you mean by "dark electonica"... Do you mean something like aggrotech or industrial techno? EBM maybe? Danceable-clubby-type-angry-sounding-stuff like Sara Noxx, Blutengel, KMFDM, Project Pitchfork, Apoptygma Berzerk? Please let me know asap so I can join if this is what you mean! I've been waiting for a swap like this! :)

Those bands are fine. Other dark themed or "Goth" can come from chill out, trip hop, industrial, etc. As long as it has some electronic sound to it. If you wanted more ideas of bands they might be Ladytron, Switchblade Symphony, Enigma, Bjork (has some), This Mortal Coil (has some), Gary Numan, Rammstein, etc. Hope this helps.

Hmmm... I was planning on including bands like Coil, A Murder of Angels, and Amon Tobin, but primarily using tracks by The Hafler Trio, Nurse with Wound, Nocturnal Emissions, Lustmord, Iszoloscope... artists who aren't very beat-oriented, and many of whom use a lot of organic sounds that are digitally/electronically processed. Is that ok??

Those bands sound fine too! There are such a wide group of bands that fall under this "genre."

Love the interpretations everyone has come up with so far :O)
