You will have 2 partners, and to each you will send a themed 12-inch (30.5 cm) strip of washi tape for each letter in the word W-A-S-H-I T-A-P-E. In total, you will be sending 9 samples to each partner. Below are some examples.
There are lots of theme possibilities. Feel free to “think outside the box, for example:
Some letters will be obvious to you; others might need more thought – but that’s where the challenge comes in. I've found that a dictionary is a good resource. Please include an explanation if it's not obvious what tape you chose for each letter. Although it goes without saying, please do not leave the front of your envelopes un-washi’d ! Important: The tape you send should be washi tape (the kind that you can rip with your fingers, and is easily removable), not deco tape (which has a shiny surface and needs to be cut with scissors), nor the cheaper “dollar store tape varieties.†I’ve had trouble removing these once wrapped. Have fun picking tapes for your partners. How to send tape? Wrap it around something that has a shiny, coated surface, like a playing card. You can also wrap clear packing tape around a postcard or cardstock. These are just two methods I’ve used; you might have your own way too. Joining requirements:
