Welcome to another postcard scavenger hunt! (This is the first one that I've hosted, but I always have so much fun participating in them and finding all the right cards!) This scavenger hunt is focused specifically on wintertime and the holiday season! You'll send 1 partner five (5) postcards from any of the themes listed below. Only one postcard per topic is allowed! Here are the themes that you can choose from: -"Non-touristy" Christmas/holiday postcard (i.e. illustrated/art cards of Santa Claus/snowmen or something else holiday-related, cards with holiday greetings, etc.) -"Touristy" Christmas/holiday postcard (i.e. a card showing a town or city's Christmas market or Christmas tree, a location decorated for the holidays, etc.) -Recipe postcard (ideally for a food commonly associated with the holidays -- i.e. pies, cookies, casserole -- but this isn't necessary) -Postcard showing a location covered in snow -Postcard of a penguin, reindeer, polar bear, moose, cardinal, or other "winter" animal -Postcard of a Christmas/winter holiday-themed book, movie, or TV special -Postcard of a place with a "Christmas-y" name or with winter in the name (i.e. Santa Claus, IN; Winter Park, FL; Evergreen, CO -- more examples can be found here !) -Postcard showing a winter sport (i.e. ice skating, skiing, sledding) -Postcard with a plant or flower typically associated with the holiday season (i.e. mistletoe, holly, Poinsettia) -Postcard showing something "gingerbread" (i.e. gingerbread man, gingerbread house) or something "peppermint" (i.e. candy cane) -Postcard showing candle(s) or a fireplace -Postcard showing an angel and/or dove -Postcard of a hot beverage -Postcard that's primarily in "Christmas" colors (i.e. red, green, gold, silver, blue) -"Random" Christmas/holiday or winter-themed postcard (this can be anything that suggests winter or the holiday season that doesn't fall under any of the above categories, or you can send 1 additional card from any of the first two categories, but it has to be a different card! No duplicates!) I know some of the categories might be kind of difficult, but use your imagination and your best judgment! If any of the categories doesn't specify "winter" or "Christmas/holiday" (i.e. the recipe card, or the cards showing candles or hot beverages) then you don't necessarily need to send something winter or holiday-related for that particular category, though it's certainly okay if you do! Please do include a note for your partner specifying which card falls under which category! You can attach sticky notes to the cards instead (but make sure the notes don't leave sticky residue on the cards). Now for the rest of the swap requirements! Postcards must be blank, clean, and in good condition. Homemade and ad cards are not allowed in this swap (this includes postcards made from greeting cards!). Vintage cards and well-made cards from Zazzle or similar sites are allowed -- but please limit to 1 each unless your partner says that it's okay to send more. Vintage-themed cards -- and cards from Cavallini, Dover, Pomegranate, etc. -- are fine, as are all store-bought cards. This swap is sender's choice, but please look at your partner's profile and be mindful of 'dislikes' and 'please do not send' lists. I will allow unrated newbies, but you must have a well filled-out profile if you're new. For rated swappers, a minimum rating of 4.98 is required to participate. No excessive 3's, and no unresolved '1' ratings (if you have any '1' ratings, please pm me before signing up or you will not be allowed to participate). I will ban anybody who obviously doesn't meet requirements throughout the signup period, and I'll do a thorough check of each profile again before I assign partners. I reserve the right to ban anybody who I think might cause issues with the swap. Finally, I'll angel if necessary (after you rate your partner with a '1') but please don't flake. If you do flake, you will be named in a flaker-reporting group and you will not be allowed to participate in any future swaps that I host. Please remember that sending on time is part of following the swap guidelines. If something prevents you from doing this, and you don't inform your partner before the end of the swap deadline, you may be rated a '3' for sending late. Thanks for joining and I hope you'll have fun with the scavenger hunt! Feel free to ask me if you have any questions, either via PM or in the comments below. :-) |
