Part 1 - Exploring textures.

This is Part 1, #2 of the Art Journal Pages SWL project. Let's get started!

-Swap two - Experimenting with mixed media on our bases

We will be exploring textures by using mixed media on a base of our choice. The base, aka background of your page can be left blank, can be painted, doodled, drawn on, watercoloured, gelli plate printed with what we used above. This swap will encourage you to play around with mixed media materials that can add fun textures. Recreating a page similar to what we made in the above swap, we will be using that page to add mixed media textures.

• Page 1; Mixed media materials that are not paper & mostly not flat; minimum of 1. Including, ribbon, lace, beads, sequins, tissue, fabric, string, rope, embellishments, twine, metal, jigsaw piece, bottle cap, etc

• Page 2; Mixed media materials that are flat & mostly paper or card; minimum of 1. Including, book page, comic strip, magazine cut-outs, used stamps, paper ephemera, book marks, ticket stubs, poetry. You could explore with collage here.

Requirements - Please see the forum post for full requirements.

• You will be creating both pages but you will only be sending 1 of the pages to your partner. Which page you send is your decision. You may try and make only 1 if you wish but this is a project so please see the forum for full details.

• Page must be no smaller than small postcard size. Any paper or card for your page is welcome. Please do not fold your page in the envelope and include a note for your partner.

• Please rate based on if your partner used the materials, NOT on what your partner has created.

• Any artistic ability and NO artistic ability is required. Everyone is creative here and anyone can do this swap. You are welcome to join in this project at any time.

• Please do your best work and do not send slop.
