Description:

The purpose of this swap is to plan your own funeral service or memorial service. It should include at least some of the following:

1) Short intro in re: type of funeral service or memorial service you would like

2) Eulogy that you would like read publicly

3) Obituary that you would like published

4) Assuming that there would be remains/cremains/leftovers to be dealt with, what type of casket/vessel you want

5) If burial, who would you like to be buried next to? Who would you absolutely NOT want to be buried next to?

6) If cremains, what would you like done with them?

7) If leftovers, what would you like done with them?

8) Music playlist for the service (please include artist and song title for those of us who would like to look them up)

9) Who would you like to be your pallbearers (if casket)?

10) Anything else that would be special about the ceremony.

That being said, this can all be totally in the realm of fantasy. If you want to be buried next to Alexander the Great and have your pallbearers be hand-picked from ancient history to a future as yet unimagined, that is fine. Just pick 'em and tell us why.

Your eulogy/obit do not have to be based in reality. This is about what you want, not necessarily about what must be. ;) Shoot for the stars.

Given that this is a somewhat time-intensive swap, please have a rating of 4.97 or higher. Unrated new swappers okay, but I will be checking attendance records. ;) I reserve the right to remove swappers who I think might not follow through on their commitment. I will angel for those who need it.

It's all in the perspective.

No promises, but right now I am thinking of putting it together like something you'd receive from the funeral home; i.e, a folder with a pamphlet type thing.

When I was in graduate school, we had to put together a death resources box for someone who might have to deal with a death as a caregiver to small children. So counseling resources, etc. It was strangely fun.

I've always wanted my funeral to be fun, which is why I started thinking about doing this for myself a few years back. I never got around to it, but thought about it again when I joined Swap-bot. Seemed like there might be others out there who could use a nudge to think about what they want and to start to put together a plan.

During the planning process, the family is involved in every decision that is to be made during the funeral. Since they are the immediate relatives, it is their responsibility to make decisions in behalf of the deceased.https://www.hiltonfuneralsupply.com/ These decisions will include the songs to be played during the memorial service, the venue or place, what flowers to put, appropriate funeral supplies to be procured and other related matters. All of these may cause a rise of disagreements among the family members.
