Description:

As an o/s crocheting mad swapper, I thought I'd list this one for the ROtW (rest of the world). But to make postage easier, I've left the mug off the list of things to include.

So... Participants in this swap will exchange a Winter Crochet Kit containing: 1. Hot drink mix (at least 2 servings)- Coffee, cocoa, tea, hot cider mix, etc. 2. A postcard saying hi! 3. An edible treat 4. A crochet pattern for a scarf, hat, mittens, gloves, slippers or socks 5. Crochet hook to use for the project 6. Enough yarn to complete the crochet pattern Minimum kit value is $15

You can give your kit a theme if you like, the main idea here is to get creative, and have fun! The goal is to give your partner a warm fuzzy evening of crocheting, and a crocheted item to enjoy afterwards!! Remember, the kit is for ONE of these items: a scarf, a hat, a pair of mittens or gloves, or a pair of adult slippers or socks.

Patterns can be from the internet/books, but remember copyright, and send a nice clear colour copy of free downloaded patterns. And if you get it from a website, please write the link on the pattern.

Any yarn is acceptable, but just remember to send something you'd be happy to receive yourself. If you're really allergic to something, post it on the comments here.

I think for this one, we should just take pot luck and avoid listing preferences, as the idea is to get creative and maybe get a kit for something you wouldn't normally choose for yourself :P

Any questions, contact me or post them here. Thanks everyone!

Okay I have just signed up for this swap BUT need to let people know - I am diabetic so for the edible treat something sugar free is preferred but not a necessity as I have 2 teenage girls who love treats LOL, also I have a serious allergy to pure wool and wool blends, I can only use 100% acrylic yarn, even as little as 5% wool can set me off into an allergic reaction. I hope this will not cause too much of a headache for my swap partner.

I am in this group, and would just like to make a request - I've gotten four swaps recently, with absolutely NO way of knowing who sent them - since many of us use "nicknames" here, PLEASE include some reference to that in the swap - otherwise, we have no way of rating the swap, or even knowing who it came from - I'm become so frustrated trying to find out WHO sent to me, even after reading every single profile, but with NO luck, I'm almost ready to give up! So please - pretty please - include your SWAP name somewhere in the swap!

Hi! Gram's button box: Your partner's name will appear when you have to rate youre partner. When you will click in the link "Rate your partner", it shows who sent your package (the real name and shes nick). That link will appear one week after the date items must be sent. (I dont know if you understand, I dont speak english very well) I hope I could help you. =))) Winnie

Whoever has me - I LOVE wool and don't care for acrylic yarn. But the MAIN thing would be the beverage and treat. I am gluten intolerant and gluten is in about everything. I can only be sure with coffee or tea (most cocoas do have it and I don't care for cider) and the treat? That is a challenge - safe bets? Nuts (I am especially fond of cashews) or any mixed nuts, Dove Milk Chocolate (no dark chocolate unfortunately), Payday bars. It is really restrictive on treats and if you try to read labels, you will drive yourself crazy and wish you never heard of me! LOL Gluten includes flour of course, but also includes: MSG, maltodextrin, modified food starch - those are the big hidden ones. I would say nuts that are simply roasted are the safest bet (and I love them). But when all else fails, I have a daughter who is more than happy to sample the items I can't have! :)

Hi, I just received my package today. And I want to thank my partner for sending it to me. You didn't put your name on your card or your return address.

But any rate, thank you and I love what you sent.

TriStateLinx 03/12/2007 #

Sorry Thurday I wrote that I received my package from this swap. No it wasn't from this swap. So sorry.

TriStateLinx 03/12/2007 #

Hi Sasha,

I just sent out your package today. I hope that you like everything. Let me know when you receive it.

Hi Tri-State, I'm glad you liked your package. Enjoy the pattern. BTW my name is Jenny aka shaynafay.

Fawne, thank you so much for the great package! The red yarn is great, and I can't wait to start the pattern. I know that 1/2 the country is still covered with snow, but it feels strange crocheting a scarf when its 72 degrees outside ;}

Hi, package is winging its way to nerdgirl in urbana - I hope you enjoy it, Jennifer, please let me know when you get it.

Have a good week, Maryb

sasha - never received anything - it "says" you sent it, but see you also already have a 1 rating from another swap, so I'm still waiting.

I'll change the rating if anything gets here, but you've never posted to this comment board, so I have no idea if you ever sent anything, or when.

never mind that comment, seeing her profile has been deleted.

why don't some of these scammers just GROW UP! I like swap-bot a LOT, and have sent every single swap, with goodies added always!

This is the 10th swap!!! that I did not receive ANYTHING!!!

so yeah, i'm a bit bummed. MaryB
