How fast can you make a Junk Journal? For me, it doesn't take long. I have a ready stash for making junk journals, and I bet you do too! We are making junk journals with nice greeting cards for covers. You will need 27 pieces of junk in this journal, which will make 25 actual 2-page spreads. Even though this is made from our junk, be sure to include some colorful junk! lol The journal's cover should be made from a good quality card. (Not a flimsy one from the dollar store.) It can be new or better yet, used! This will make it a handy size to carry with you when you go shopping. Pages can be different sizes. In fact, I encourage it, as long as they fit inside the cover. It adds interest. You can use forms, book pages, ledger pages, pages from cook books or dictionaries or encyclopedias, children's books, junk mail, menus, maps, sheet music....I could go on and on, but you get the idea. Just NO SCRAPBOOK paper pages! You can use bits of scrapbook papers for decorating if you want, but not for the actual pages. You can add things like pockets or tags, journaling cards, flaps, anything that will make this a GREAT journal! Don't do too much decorating, though, because your partner has to have room to actually use those pages! lol You can bind the book any way you like. I like to fold my pages in half, rather than cutting them, and then I punch 3 holes and use ribbons and yarns to hold it all together. It makes for a really pretty book. But if you use notebook rings, you can always decorate them with ribbons and yarns, too. There is scores of ways to bind books, so choose whatever way you like. Now that I've written a book, let's get down to the brass tacks! You MUST have a 4.9 or better rating, and no flakers, please! I will be checking profiles carefully. Please send on time and rate your partner in a tinely manner. And most of all, HAVE FUN!!!! That's what junk journals are all about! |
