Tim introduces the December tag as follows: the holidays are in full swing and the studio is buzzing with festive creativity. i hope the final tag of the year will inspire you to take time during this busy holiday season to give these ideas a try. we start by transforming plain burlap into a colorful patterned masterpiece, then layer punched paper shapes into yuletide evergreen, and finish everything off with a few findings and a splattering of distress to create a winter wonderland. here’s wishing you all a creative and magical christmastime"…t!m I am not sure where this whole year has gone so rapidly--I am wondering if I'm merely dreaming that Christmas is only a couple weeks away already. But then the calendar confirms that it is, indeed December., The tutorial for this tag can be found tutorial by clicking HERE. This tag requires sticky back burlap as the surface on top of your #8 size tag. Be sure your tag is 6 1/4 x 3 1/8. No smaller tags will meet this swap requirement. I just broke down and bought some a few wees ago, but if I did not have it, I think I'd iron on interfacing for heavier fabrics---putting it on a larger piece of canvas to stabilize it. Then i'd trim the piece to fit the tag and punch a hole in the top as on the manila tag. Then I'd adhere it to the tag and give the fabric adhesive plenty of drying time. (Follow Tim's instructions about when to adhere the burlap to the tag, of course.) He also uses a stencil I do not have, but I am going through the ones I do have a am certain to find something close enough for inking the burlap. He uses his new punches for greenery to make the wreath, but you could use greenery from any die or punch you have. Substitute for any ink colors you have and make a ribbon bow if you do not have the die for his paper bow. Simply use Tim's tag, as always, as the kick start for your own interpretation of a December tag resembling his. They do not have to match perfectly at all. Just make a gorgeous tag, resembling the one Tim creates. MOST IMPORTANTLY: HAVE FUN MAKING THE TAG--I'm listening to a bit of holiday carols and instrumentals to get me into the season Be certain to sign up for this swap by December 15 and drop it in the mail by December 31. If you haven't tried making a tag, jump in with this one and find out whether it is something you'd like to do again. I think that's all the information we need, have fun and have a Merry little Christmas season! |
