Description:

Hello, fellow washi tape lovers, this is my first time hosting swaps in this group! (^o^ )/

For this swap, you'll be sending 10 samples of washi tape to your partner => 5 handmade + 5 storebought (at least 12 inches each).

Have you seen the posts by @Sherry71 on handmade tapes in the Washi Tape Lovers' forum? She has listed 2 ways: With Paper tapes, & using tissue paper and double sided tape.

I've recently tried making a few strips using 3M micropore tape with stamps and enjoyed the process! I thought swapping our handmade designs would be fun, but then again what if mine are too amateurish? Hence, we can have the best of both worlds by swapping both handmade and storebought samples ~ artsy handmade ooak designs + professionally printed ones!

The 5 storebought washi tape samples must be washi tape and NOT plastic deco tape. Washi tapes can be easily torn by hand, and are easily removable/ repositionable. Wrap your samples around good playing cards or smooth surface which doesn't rip the samples when your partners want to use it.

The 5 handmade tape samples are made of thin paper (for example, surgical tape, tissue paper or plain masking tape) and can be torn by hand. Stamp or draw or paint on them, use any mediums but remember that they are going to be wrapped around playing cards & etc, and so we should be able to remove them with minimum damage of the designs.

The themes and designs are up to you but no plain solid coloured tapes allowed, there must be some designs or patterns on the tape.

Athough this is sender's choice, please don't send designs that your partner has specifically stated they dislike/ are offended by. For example, please don't use a snake stamp when decorating the tape samples when they wrote that they don't want reptiles of any kinds, or don't send mostly pink samples if they dislike pink colour. We do want to send partners designs they can use ;)

Reminder for the sender: Please take note of the above requirements, and send nothing dirty or unusable. Include a short note with this swap's name and your username for your partner to rate you easily.

Reminder for the receiver: This is an international swap so do give some time for the mail to arrive. As long as your partner completed this swap following the requirements and mailed by deadline, please rate a 5 regardless of whether or not you like the designs received. Hearts are given at your discretion if you feel that some thoughts and effort have been put into the swap you received :)

The rating for swappers joining is at least 4.98 with no recent 3s or 1s in the last 6 months. I may remove anyone if I feel 'uneasy' since I'm still a newbie when it comes to hosting swaps. I'll angel when you have tried to communicate with your partner but eventually have no choice but to rate a ' 1 ' for flaking.

Thanks for checking out this swap, hope you'll consider joining but do take note that this swap has a short sign up and 1 week to send by (^-^ )/

Love this concept, @shellyc and @sherry71 ~ Originally, I hesitated to sign up for a crafty type swap this time of the year, due to all my other commitments on and off S.B. Plus, I've never attempted to make my own washi yet, so please forgive me for any mistakes. ~ I will see what I can do. Γ’β„’Β₯

Hello swappers,

This swap is supposed to be crafty yet simple enough make during this busy holiday season. I reckon everyone already have storebought washi and materials for tape-making on hand. ;)

So the partners for this swap have all been assigned and you can start making your partner some tapes over the weekend and mail by next Friday! :D
