Description:

International swap, open to newbies, who have a complete and well-thought- out profile.

The first time I was in this swap, in 2007, when it was hosted by a dear friend, who Is no longer in swap-bot. I've seen lots of variations of if over the years, but I am returning to the simple.

You will have two partners, (that means you will get two ratings.)

You will send each one of them a postcard, with a stanza, or a few lines of a poem that has touched your life in some way.

Please credit the author, unless you've written it yourself.

Do not put your postcard in an envelope to mail. These are to be addressed, to your partner, with a stamp attached and then mailed.

It is VERY important that you write, maybe along the margins, your own name, the name of the swap, and the date you are mailing it. Be sure to also click the SENT button on this page, so you won't get marked down, just because the postal serice might be slow.

Please use a picture postcard. (Sender's choice!)

I hope you have FUN with these!

Any questions, or concerns, please just ask, or message me.

@gramsbuttonbox - re 'sender's choice' and 'picture postcard' does that include ad postcards? Or handmade postcards?

gramsbuttonbox 01/10/2016 #

I don't know what you mean by "ad" postcard? And I think homemade is fine, as long as they are "Mail-able" ( not having to put them inside an envelope.

Good luck, and I hope you have fun with this.

From what I have seen, ad postcards are usually off limits in pc swaps.

I will defer to your comment bruxbaby, and say "no" to the ad ones.

Thank you for that clarification

Is it okay to have a poem on a postcard in your own language (mine is Dutch for example)?

gramsbuttonbox 01/13/2016 #

I think it would be beautiful, I would hope you might translate it also, for those of us who only speak English....

How do I get my swap partners?

gramsbuttonbox 01/16/2016 #

They are assigned the day after the host checks profiles, etc. I'm doing that now.

Have fun with this! And thank your for joining my swap!

@gramsbuttonbox > Sorry for delay in checking back here for reply. 'Ad' = advertisement, free e-cards. Most are commercial and ugly, but sometimes I find really beautiful ones. I've been on swap-bot for years; unless there's been a recent change I missed, most people say whether ad cards are permissable in their swap or not, and you just ask if they didn't say either way. This is just FYI for future swaps, esp for you and @bruxbaby (Unless there's been a shift of late!) I won't send an ad card this time. :)

Thanks for the clarification, I appreciate it. I have run, or been in postcard swaps, where no mention of that was ever made...

I have learned a valuable lesson here, thanks to you.
