QnT NAUTICAL - boat quilt block swap series 3-31-16 thru 4-30-16 --1 boat block with sail and flag or some other appropriate item of interest --1 partner This is the second swap in our Nautical block series for 2016. Make your boat quilt block using any pieced, appliqued, or embroidered pattern you want. Each block mailed should be 9 ΓΒ½Γ’β¬ΒX9 ΓΒ½Γ’β¬Β or bigger. If you find a pattern you like that is a little smaller add a coordinating border to bring it up to at least 9 ΓΒ½Γ’β¬ΒX9 ΓΒ½Γ’β¬Β before mailing. Perhaps a white or navy blue border would work. Recipients may post below any special requests regarding the block they will receive but this is ultimately SENDERS choice. If we have enough interest in this swap I would love to do several more thru out the year. I want to make a quilt wall hanging with nautical themes but especially with LIGHTHOUSES, which we did in February. Each boat block should have a sail and a little flag or some other appropriate item of interest. This will be an important feature to the block. You may add additional features to your block like birds, people, fish, or anything nautical as long as you have at least one boat with sail. Each block should be something you made not a boat already printed on fabric. You can hand or machine embroider a boat, or if you prefer you can applique or piece one instead. Do your best to make a creative appealing boat block that your partner will be thrilled to receive. We will have a full month to make each block so we donΓ’β¬β’t have to rush. If you decide to join this swap you may begin on the block right away. If you join be committed to doing a great job! Swap-on! |
