Playing Card Book Γ’β‚¬β€œ On The Wings of Summer

For this swap you will be making a ten page book from playing cards. One book to one partner.

These can only be mailed as packages due to the thickness so IÒ€ℒm keeping this as regional, USA. If anyone wishes to start this as international please feel free to copy any parts that you need.

The rules are pretty straight forward:

Use 10 (or more) playing cards from any deck. The ones with pictures on the backs are nice, but the plain versions work well too.

The side with the numbers must be decorated and embellished. You may use papers to cover them or you could paint them.

The backs may be left as they are, although you certainly may cover/paint them if you wish.

This book will be decorated/embellished with all the things that fly and flitter flutter around during spring/summer so think birds, butterflies, bees, dragonflies to just name the obvious. There should be some form of flying or winged things on each page, but feel free to do the backgrounds however you like including colors, trees, lawns, bodies of water, flowers ect.

These little books are a lot of fun and can be done in many mediums. Think rubber stamps, collage, cut outs, hand drawing, zentangle and stickers Γ’β‚¬β€œ yes stickers do have a place and some are exceptionally beautiful Γ’β‚¬β€œ just use them in combination with a well thought out page so they enhance the other elements you choose for the page.

Playing card books also lend themselves to all manner of trims and lace, beads and buttons and can be quite chunky. You can also easily make pockets and tuck spots for these.

The books become books when you make holes down the left side (usually with a hole punch) and use book rings, ribbon, twine or string to bind them into books.

I most often expect ratings of at least 4.9+ to join my swaps and do not accept any swappers with recent 1's or 3's unless I can see that the low rating was undeserved.

For this swap I will also be checking how many type 3 swaps you have completed. I usually expect 20 but will make exceptions if you have completed a number of swaps that include experience in this type of paper crafting and dedication to this type of swapping.

I will not be accepting newbies who have only a handful of ratings although I can do one private swap for this book. If you are interested message me.

Just wondering if the cards need to be all from the same deck or can we mix it up?

Hag53 05/ 5/2016 #

They can be all mixed up! If you are mixing sizes I think it would be best to use the largest for the front and back cover, at least. thanks for the question!

Does part of the card need to show like when you do them in playing g cardswap?

Hag53 05/15/2016 #

No I have not required that a corner of the orginial card shows... I might consider that for future swaps like this one... it could be fun... thanks for asking... I also messaged you this answer to make sure you got it in time... I am sorry for the delay here... I don't usually get questions after the swap closes so I don't check like I should... again my apologizes...
