Description:

Don't you just love getting home and finding awesome and colorful mail in your mailbox? If you do, then this is the swap for you.

This is a low cost swap, and I’ll be hosting it on a monthly basis.

The requirements are:

Send a super cute envelope, using any medium you want, stickers, washi tape, rubber stamps, anything, just make sure it looks super cute.

Look through your stash and include the following flat items:

  • 1 sticker sheet
  • 5 washi tape samples (12 inch/30 centimeters each)
  • 1 postcard
  • 1 teabag
  • 3 items of your choice, store-bought or handmade. Some ideas: bookmarks, tags, die cuts, stationery, blank notecards, handmade envelopes, confetti, postage stamps, ephemera, smash bits, project life cards, the list is endless.

Please also include a nice note for your partner in pretty stationery and don't forget to include your username and swap name.

This is a sender's choice swap, so you can get started on your swap as soon as you want. It's always nice to check your partner's profile, but ultimately this is sender's choice, so if you receive something you don't like, you can send it in another round of these swaps or any other swap.

The total weight of your envie should be no more than 40-50 grams, so that neither of us spends too much on postage. Use postage stamps if possible.

No newbies this time, sorry. I'm trying to keep this a free flake zone. Only people with a 4.85 rating. You must have at least 20 rated type 2 and 3 swaps (in total). No recent and unsolved 1's and 3's in the last year. I will be looking through everyone's profile and reserve the right to ban anyone who seems flaky or problematic.

Before joining, please check your if you meet the requirements. If you don’t, please DO NOT join this swap. As a host, I take my time checking all participants and making sure they don’t have late swaps on their dashboard, logged in during the past few days and have the amount of rated swaps I ask for. It takes you less than 2 minutes to check your own ratings and situation, but it takes me a long time to go over all swappers that don’t meet requirements and still joined my swap (and which I’ll have to ban anyway). So I’d really appreciate if you could keep that in mind.

I will angel this swap in case someone flakes, but I'm trying to be as cautious as I can and really hope we can all have fun with this swap.

If you have any questions, suggestions or doubts, please don't hesitate to contact me or add a comment in this swap.

Happy swapping everyone!

Can I join?

milamilamura 07/ 1/2016 #

Sorry but you can't, you have only been rated for 3 swaps, and I ask for 20 ratings in your profile. I'm hosting this swap every month, maybe in the future you can join, when you meet the requirements :)

Hi, how does one put together a "washi tape sample"? I have a million tapes but am wondering how exactly they are to be sent, as you said this is a flat swap :) Thank you!

CurlyTea 07/ 1/2016 #

@cnmn64 I have seen them wrapped around a paper tag a few times. I suggest a popsicle stick or a tongue depressor and you can wrap several different tapes on it. Also a piece of waxed paper will also work.

Yes, those things work. I usually wrap washi tape around a plastic playing card or cut a piece of hard plastic sheet the size of a card. But feel free to use anything that is most comfortable for you. There are many ways to send washi tape samples :)

Got it, Thanks!

How do you get ratings in order to swap if you can't join the swaps?

milamilamura 07/ 7/2016 #

You join swaps for newbies, there are plenty of those in groups like Newbie Helpers. I am sorry but the reason I am so strict is because there are many flakers out there and I'm not willing to take that risk. When I was a newbie I was only able to join postcard swaps and small swaps. Actually, you can look for new swaps and use the filter "newbie" to find swaps suitable for newbies, I just checked and there are plenty of those....good luck! I'll be happy to have you in my swaps once you meet the requirements :)
