I totally love traveling type swaps and I had this idea of a traveling christmas card swap. The idea came from being part of those office Christmas cards where everyone signs it, so when you get it you have a cool card with tons of signatures. I was trying to figure out how to do that via swap-bot without needing to have tons of rounds and needing to have you sign up for each round and give time for sign-ups and the like. I wanted to actually give us time for the TRAVELING part of the swap. hahahaha. That being said, this is a slightly involved swap so please read through all the directions before joining and if you have questions or need further clarification send me a email. (Don't just leave comment because I may not see it right away.)

Here we go!!

  1. You will pick out a Christmas Card that you want to come back to you!

  2. On the back of the Christmas Card, write your swap-bot ID, your First and Last name and your mailing address.

  3. Place it inside of the card envelope but DO NOT seal it.

  4. Place this card inside of an manilla envelope that will fit your card.

  5. Make sure that you have a note somewhere IN the envelope that states you name, swap id and the name of the swap.

REPEAT THE ABOVE OVER AND AGAIN UNTIL YOU GET YOUR ORIGINAL CARD BACK IN THE MAIL FILLED WITH SIGNATURES.

Hi Folks!!

I wanted to make sure that everyone is remembering to sign the cards before passing them on. I got a message from Misplaced that she's received 4 cards now but they've each only had 1 signature each in them. That was fine for the first two cards because the 1st was the original from her partner... the second was a pass on (so only one signature) but the third and fourth cards should have had 2 and 3 signatures respectively.

I'm not sure if communication has broken down somewhere or if some may be confused on what you are supposed to do with the card that comes to you, but I'll go over it just in case. When you get the card.. you pull it out of the envelope... Sign it... put it back in the envelope and fordward it to your (send) partner... Repeat ... repeat... Repeat.. until by the end of the swap, you will get the last card that has ALL OUR signatures on it .. Then you would send it home to it's owner.

So in the example below:

I sent MY beginning card to Skier11

She signed it and mailed to Krspellman (1 signature)

Krspellman signed it and mailed it Dandelion girl (2 signatures)

Dandelion signed it and mailed it to Margothecat (3 signatures now)

Margothecat signed it and mailed it to Stiffneck78 (4 signatures now)

Stiffneck78 signed it and mailed it to Misplaced (5 signatures now)

Misplaced signed it and mailed it to Momskii (6 signatures now)

Momskii is the last signature for my card. She address the card envelope and stamps it, mails it home to me. (7 signatures)

I open it and see all your wonderful well wishes!!!
