I'm scrapping the whole first part of this description because it was soooo looong. And since this is a zine group, you should know all that basic stuff anyway, right? So if you're joining this swap for the first time, make a zine. You can choose a theme that you'd like others to interpret - make it as wide open or as specific as you like. Design the front and back covers for your zine. On the back cover you may choose to leave space for each contributor to sign. Just make it clear by design or in a note that this is what you want. Include your mailing address and a short note describing your theme or anything related to the zine that you would like your partner to know. This will be included with your zine as it is passed on. Once all of the inside pages have been filled, your zine will be sent back to you! Be sure to include your mailing address or at least a good email address. Return rider? Complete the next page in the last zine you received and pass it on. Just added the last page to a zine? Send it back to its owner. Now you can start a new zine or check the forums to see if someone has an extra that needs extra contributors. If at any time you lose interest or choose not to participate, PLEASE contact me so that the zines can continue to circulate! Good communication will continue to make these swaps successful. If you choose to jump on the zine-go-round, realize that it will take six rounds to complete your zine if you create a typical six-page minizine. You are expected to continue participating in swaps during the rotation of your zine. That's part of the fun of a collaborative project :) ATTENTION PARTICIPANTS: Please post on the Zine-Go-Round forum on ZMACS as zines are sent and received. It's nice to know where your darling is! Be creative and have fun!! Thanks to Sam Jowers for her kind permission, which I hope she will give me when I ask, to use the image of her work. |
