Description: | |
A hamsa, or khamsa is an ancient symbol for protection, believed to have originated in North Africa and also in the Middle East. It is now used across cultures, but particularly in the Middle East and North Africa. It is often of particular significance to women. In this swap, we will create three ATC-sized hamsas out of any material (it should be thick enough to be stable, such as reinforced card stock) -- one for our swap partner, one to share with a friend or co-worker or neighbor, and one to send to an organization that supports those in need of love and tolerance, such as immigrants, refugees, and those seeking a safe space in the world. Feel free to add a little note of tolerance and love to those that you give your hamsas to. I will screen all swappers, ask anyone I have a question about to do a 1:1 swap, and angel all unsent swaps. Thanks for joining in the spirit of love & tolerance. |
