Description:

Drop a few drops of Adirondack Alcohol Ink (by Tim Holtz) onto glossy cardstock. I then placed this into a open box placed on its side. Blast your drops with a can of compressed air using quick bursts of air. I used the little straw that came with the can of air.

Add several colors of Alcohol Ink blasting it with air after a couple drops because you want the ink to still be wet. It will spread over your cardstock.

When you have the desired look, add 3 to 4 drops of Blending Solution to your inked ATC. The colors will blend.

Once this is dry, you can speed the process with a heat gun, stamp an images or images with Archival Ink. I will use Staz On Ink & then dry with a heat tool.

Be sure to add a sturdy backing.

Edited to add: I have found stamping on dark colors doesn't work well at all. So use lighter colors if you have them. If all you have are darker colors of ink, then you can stamp an image & cut it out & add it to the ATC making sure some of your background shows thru. You do not want to go thru all the work of making this background & then cover it all up.

My samples are not as dark as they look in the picture.

I told my stamp club that I had tried this technique. A friend told me she blew thru a straw & it worked fine.

Is alcohol ink same as water proof dye ink? I have some Ancient Page inks that are "acid free archival waterproof dye ink" (I have used these in polished stone technique with rubbing alcohol).

If you are able to use the waterproof dye ink for the polished stone technique, then I would think they would work for this technique.
