UPDATE: I made some clarifications based on messages I received.

Here's a swap for all you awesome swappers out there with one or more ♥ (heart) ratings.

You will send one partner:
- 1 handmade item
- 1 yummy treat to eat
- 1 fun craft item (based on your partners profile/interest - if they don't craft send a nice gift that they would like to receive)
- 1 magazine issue (if you are in a non-English speaking country, please contact your partner and arrange an alternative gift)

RULES: This is an international swap.

This swap is open to anyone with at least one ♥ (heart) rating. Overall feedback must be 4.5 or above. If you have no hearts or than 2 no sends, you will be removed from this swap. This swap is specifically set up for folks that have been extra generous to their partners. It's not a secret swap so feel free to contact your partner.

Price minimum is $10 (excluding shipping).

Please post any questions/preferences either in comments or on your profile. Hopefully your partner will check and tailor accordingly.

I really like the idea of having a swap that is limited to those of us who are extra generous. However the magazine thing kind of kills it for me. I hope to see a version of this swap that doesn't require a magazine in the future, cause I think it will be great to swap with people who we already know are great swappers.

i agree with Leenda77! i don't buy magazines, but the rest of the items pose no problems for me..

honeybknits 03/10/2007 #

Couldn't a small craft book be sent instead for the anti-magazine folks?

TerryF 03/10/2007 #

I stay away from book and magazine swaps because their weight makes the cost of mailing so high. What if we were to send either a copy of a published article, or a copy of a pattern, that would interest our partner? These can be printed off the net or obtained from the library and photocopied at little or no cost.

Simsan 03/12/2007 #

Per the description above, please contact your partner and arrange an alternative gift if you rather not exchange magazines (books are a good alternative). There is a minimum dollar value to this swap though so please keep that in mind.

I agree with the above comments, nice idea for a swap except for the magazine, books would give the same problem of high postal costs. Liked Tassy's alternative

I'd like to let my partner know that I LOVE magazines :D

WillowTree21 03/14/2007 #

A good craft mag, would eat up the 10 dollar min with that alone. Even a regular mag is normally 4.99 to 6.99. Not sure about this one.

Jill 03/14/2007 #

Hey, guys - why don't we all agree that if we get a magazine, great, but if we don't just know that our partners were still thinking of us but chose an item that we would love just as much...I'm okay not receiving a magazine as I'm sure that all of the others are, too...Just FYI to my partner...

Simsan 03/15/2007 #

If no one has any objections to Jill's suggestion, then we'll go with that a magazine can be substituted for another thoughtful gift.

Let me know what everyone thinks.

That's fine with me, simsan!

mazzam 03/16/2007 #

I think from England printed paper goes at a special cheap rate so maybe a magazine could be posted separately. I buy some so if second hand is okay I wouldn't be counting the cost

honeybee 03/17/2007 #

If you have me as a partner, instead of a magazine please send me anything else made of printed paper. Suggestions: note pad, post-its, unused card and envelope, origami paper, stickers, scrapbook paper, etc. I hope that helps with the cost of shipping.

Ruthy 03/17/2007 #

If you have me as a partner. please contact me through swap-bot since I am not the magazine type. Apart from that the swap appeals to me.

Magazine or no magazine is fine with me. How about a zine? A small handmade book of musings, drawings, ideas. etc. Do a searchon line to see what they look like. they are basically stapled together pieces of paper. I like this one. To give is the joy of Swapbot for me. I love thinking I am making someone happy!!!

i do like art magazines but they're pricey. Im fine with any sort of pretty paper (origami paper..handmade paper) or anything else that is interesting.

Ruthy 03/18/2007 #

Have you got your partners? Is it just me or something is wrong? I haven't got mine...

brokeneyeball 03/18/2007 #

i havent gotten mine either.

FunToScrap 03/18/2007 #

If the swap coordinator doesn´t sign on to assign our partners, Swap Bot will do it automatically in three days from the swap close.

Simsan 03/19/2007 #

Sorry for the delay - it was a busy weekend and I didn't have a chance to sit down and go through everyone's profile until now - partners have been assigned!

1CrazyQuilter 03/21/2007 #

FunToScrap I sent your package out today.

brokeneyeball 03/22/2007 #

craft item? what does that mean, like..some to craft WITH... or A craft that we made fooor them?

honeybee 03/23/2007 #

Mieke-I sent your package today from Hawaii. Hope you enjoy it!

Nimzay-I interpreted it as something they can use when they craft, not something you made because the first item is something handmade.

Simsan 03/24/2007 #

Nimzay - The craft item should be something your partner can use in their craft making. Thanks! Simmy

brokeneyeball 03/28/2007 #

oh.. It makes sense that way, thanks.
