US Only: Unusual Journal Swap

Could you give some examples of 'wreck this journal' pages? Just so I'm sure I'd be doing the right kind of thing. Thanks 😁

There are some pages from a Wreck This Journal book. There are so many fun ways you can add fun and creativity to it!

One question I have @vivaladiane is this...should we create the wreck this journal page for the recipient to wreck, or do we create AND wreck it? This is a great idea, I'm really looking forward to the challenge!

with horrid handwriting (i've typed almost everythig for almost 40 years and hate handwriting) can i do the written journal pages on computer/print/paste in? I do that in journals quite a lot, makes them readable for partners and comfortable for me. It sounds like a fun kind of journl do and to receive.

Correct. You get someone else's journal.

The lists pages - all top 10 (fave songs/movies etc) or just lists in general? For the paper stuff pages - magpie style? For the WTJ pages - do we label the top of the page, then wreck it (like label the page Rip it up & then tear?) Sounds like fun, just want to be sure I understand &don't disappoint my partner :)

Just lists. No predetermined questions, your choice... For the Wreck It's - yes, you label it then wreck it. For the paper fun pages - I'm leaving that open to individuals. I had to look up magpie so I don't want to dictate a style. Art is art. If you put in the effort, it shouldn't be disappointing. ♥♥

After I've searched for a loooooooooong time. The magpie type is how I see those pages in my mind, so I don't require them to be like that, but if one needs some inspiration, it isn't a bad idea.

@VivaLaDiane I've got one more question for you. Ive begun to work on my journal, and have found that some things have become a two page spread...do we count those as two pages, since it technically is? Or should we count it as one, since it's all part of one idea? For instance, on the diary entry, my first one is two full pages, and I just need to know how to count it. Ok, I lied. I've actually got two...is it ok to decorate the outside cover of the composition book?

One idea counts as 1 even if it takes 5 pages. This of course applies to just writing. Sorry about that. With art or paper fun I'd count them differently. I hope that's fair.

It is absolutely okay to decorate whatever inside or out as you feel. It's isn't required but it is allowed. Thanks for the great questions everyone. I definitely want them in advance of the swap beginning.

One more question - do we need to start with a new comp book? Or can we use an old one, as long as it has 50 pages?

Been working on mine, and very please with how it's progressing, love the specs for this swap, as it gives me a bit of structure, yet allows for complete creativity within it. ❤️
