We have 12.5 inch and 6.5 inch string quilt block swaps on a regular basis.....So I thought I would start a 8.5 inch string quilt block swap...I'm becoming addicted to these blocks!! This is a good way to use up that left over fabric! No strips over 2.5 inches in width Make 4 - string quilts blocks that measure 8.5 inches when completed..... Start with a 9 inch base (cotton fabric or muslin- DO NOT add batting) and add the strips in a diagonal line...cut the blocks down to 8.5 inches before sending to your partner If you haven't made these blocks before, there are several tutorials on line You are only making the blocks ... do not join blocks together!
