Description:

You will be creating one ATC for your partner, using plastic wrap or bubble wrap in the creation of your background.

You can either use your plastic/bubble wrap to press texture and pattern into wet paint/inks on your ATC or dab the texture on. Experiment and have fun!

Once your background is complete, add your special touches with inks, rubber stamping, collage, embellishments, ribbon, etc to finish your work of art.

Standard ATC rules apply. Size must be 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches (or 64mm X 89mm). Be sure to use a strong and sturdy backing, not just paper or cardstock. On the back of your ATC, please include your name, date, and name of the swap.

YouTube Idea

Although gelatos and other products are used in the video, I think this could be worth exploring with TH distress crayons :)

Happy creating!

I could not get the plastic to stick to TM crayons on the card.

@TC - did you spray water on the crayons? I tried with crayons, coloring somewhat lightly on one and harder on another. I sprayed lightly with water and smudged them to activate them, then put the plastic wrap on and let sit for ~10 minutes and it worked. For both cards the colors are really light though, a lot of the color ended up on the plastic. I tried dabbing-while-drying to get some of the color off the plastic but I don't really like it. I also tried acrylic paint and enamel paint and so far I like the acrylic the best.

I tried with distress* crayons that is...

I just tried the crayons again, thinking maybe I had too much water. I gave it the most pathetic little spritz of water and still, it's so light and all the color is on the plastic :-/

I did use water, quite a bit of it. Just couldn't get the plastic to stick. I even trying weighing it down. I got better results with TH paints.

Sorry, ladies! Completely missed these comments. It took a few bits of trying things for me to get it to work, but had some success after experimenting. Frustrating perhaps, but I feel like it was part of the whole trying a new thing process :) I hope you girls had luck!
