Description:
I used to live in a lighthouse so I thought getting lighthouse postcards would be fun. :) Buy five postcards depicting a lighthouse and send one to each of your partners. The postcards should be stamped and written on unless your partner prefers otherwise. However, you are not obliged to send them in envelopes. Postcards can be store bought or handmade but please be respectful to your partners preferences. The swap is international. Newbies welcome with a filled out profile.

Well this would be an easy one for me since I live just up the bluff from a lighthouse (and its foghorn kept waking me up last night!)

I can imagine. I used to live in a lighthouse (the one pictured) and it was always something or another: a horn, the wind whistling or waves pounding so that the building shook. :D

That is an absolutely beautiful lighthouse that you used to live in, does your family still live there? I think this would be a good swap for me as i'm from Maine! :) Lighthouses are everywhere. Actually there is even a lighthouse in the middle of a small town, no water surrounding it. I think there used to be, but just a normal house for someone now.

My family doesn't live there anymore. We were one of the last families to live there though. In 1996, the light's turning mechanism failed and so did the heating system's boiler so everyone relocated. Things were restored but no one has lived there since then. I returned three years ago for a visit and they painted the lighthouse to it's original colors which was nice to see.

What a small world that someone on Swap-Bot has a poster of a lighthouse that you used to live in.

I have this poster for about 15 years now. A friend once took a picture and made me a poster of it.

I think its amazing that I was starring at this lighthouse whishing I could live in it while somebody really did :o)
